The Inn At Pocono Manor - East Course
About
The Inn at Pocono Manor offers two championship golf courses, conveniently located less than two hours from New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia. Surrounded by the beauty of the Poconos, the inn has earned a spot on the National Registry of Historic Places. George Fazio designed the West Course, and the East Course was Donald Ross' creation. The East Course, the original layout, has hosted a number of legendary players, including Arnold Palmer and Sam Snead, since 1912. Ross carefully sculpted the mountainous landscape to create a course that is both challenging and memorable. It is shorter and tighter than the other course but they are equal in level of difficulty. The golf course is defined by the interesting water hazards that come into play on several holes, but the scenic views are also a draw.

Great day for golf
I went with my sister and we had no one behind us so we played nice and relaxed with worrying about holding anyone up.
Perhaps the most unusual course I've ever played
So, this is an old Donald Ross design. Their are several blind shots, mostly on the front 9. We were able to take the carts up to see where we were headed so that was not a problem. Most curious of all was a blind par 3, yes, you heard that right. You hit your shot over a hill and the green is on the other side. Very quirky but both myself and my playing companion thoroughly enjoyed our round. The greens were exceptional, very true and fairly quick. Most were small. The overall conditions were terrific. I will be back, no doubt, and I highly recommend it, especially if you have any interest in the history of course design.
Possibilities
The course was fun. There are a few blind shots. You need to play it more than once to score well. Weather had a few holes a little burned on the greens a little. Not a bad track though. I will definitely play it again.
History not to be forgotten
Had a great time , course in great shape , drove almost 2hr to get there ,.., would do it again and stay a couple nights at the resort ... ... check out the photos on the walls of the dining area , you get to see who has played there and also the father of the head pro Greg Wall ,... Art Walk Jr. .... 1959 Masters Champion ... good stuff. ...
A real gem
Nice people work here from Dennis, the pro, who was able to accommodation our late arrival and no shows of two players, to Burt who calmed me down from the late arrival situation caused by my wife's aide and the other players. Making arrangements to be there at a specific time, then having everyone else delay you is stressful. But these two guys made sure that I didn't bring that stress to the round. It helped. Had two birdies and rwo pars. My alltime best. And just two balls. Also a good sign.
And yes, the course has a lot of fun holes to play. Conditions were excellent. My only mediocre rating was the menu. Limited but excellent hot dogs and buns. No repeats.
I'll be back
Great Time -- as always
Great time today.
Course is in very good shape: Tee Boxes, Fairways & Greens all in tip-top shape.
Pace of play was no problem; finished is just over 4 hours bit never waited to hit.
only complaint is that the cart path is a shambles. There are fewer holes & bumps on the grass.
I highly recommend this course!
Not bad
Price this year is super high. You can golf a course like Mt. Airy or jack frost for a similar price with much better coarse right in the area. I like this coarse but 15 bucks more a round then last year is a little crazy.
Great course!
Staff is super friendly and helpful. I golfed here on Friday and Sunday and had a great time both days. Course is challenging and fun!
Very different course
This course was challenging and very different but a lot of fun. There were numerous holes that were unlike anything I’ve played before. For example a par 3 with no visible green.
Quirky Layout
Very strange layout. 2 par 3s on front side are very poorly designed. First is 150 yds and you cannot see the green from the tee. The second is 77 yds and plays about 60 since it is severely downhill. Course was in fair shape overall. Cart paths need a ton of work, greens were smooth albeit a bit slow. Clubhouse was basically closed due to covid however it didn’t appear as if it would be a place you would want to spend a lot of time anyway. Overall this was probably a very nice place 40 years ago but for 2020 it is not up to par compared to a place like Jack Frost which is 20 mins away.
Beautiful and Long
Beautiful and long golf course ! Great pace of play for a sold out Sunday during MDW! Highly recommend!
