Very Nice Course with Friendly Staff
This is a very nice golf course with a staff that understands and appreciates its visiting player/customers. We arrived 30 minutes early for our tee time thinking we would hit a few balls at the range. The check in person informed us that the first tee was open and offered us to get going early if we wanted. And the starter could not have been nicer as well.
The course was in very good shape, with fast well maintained greens and nice tee boxes and fairways. In spots the course is tight so an errant shot from an adjacent hole might find its way in your direction occasionally. There are some beautiful holes and nice vistas on this course as well. For us, this course is a little bit far away, but the ride there on an early Fall day was great. I would definitely recommend this course.
Basic golf
Played on a Hot deal and used my GolfPass coupons so paid a total of $12 to play. Super friendly staff and the food was excellent. Great course for beginners. Not a ton of trouble. Turn special was a hotdog, a drink and chips for $5!!
As far as the golf the only downside is that they have limited space so get used to hearing FORE!! Greens were in good shape and traps has plenty of sand. Anything higher than $50 you will be disappointed.
I do have a question about the 8th hole being a par 4. It was playing 460 yards?? 100 yards longer than every par for on the front 🤷🏻♂️
In great condition
Course is holding up to this heat wave we have sitting in top of us really nicely.
Haters gonna hate
Still one of the best overall deals around!!! Consistent above average playing conditions. Always the best customer service and lunch deal! Hot dog, chips, candy bar AND a drink, still just $5!!
It’s been hot lately so some areas are brown and dry. I noticed a couple greens had a bad patch. I got into a bunker that had too many stones/pebbles then found the bunker on the 17th hole and it had nice sand coverage.
Been making the 1+hour drive a couple times a year for over 10 years. The course does a bit of the back and forth. Parallel fairways will keep you in play , and keep you on the look out for errant shots from other players. But it has some nice elevation changes, some visibility appealing vistas thru the course and will always be recommend by me and my group. Be back soon!!
Great Course
Great course. Pace of play was a little slower with the tournament earlier in the day delaying groups ahead of us
Nice… but a little disappointed...
After reading a bunch of the reviews, I thought this place was gonna blow my mind. There was nothing especially terrible about the course… But I had trouble finding the elements that made so many wildly praise it.
Three stars means “average” … and that is what this course is. Average. I got a very good deal and got to play it for $35 but after playing it, I would’ve been rather upset. Had I paid more than that! One reviewer talked about making a special trip out to Play again and I honestly do not understand why on earth they would do that.
There are a few very nice holes. Especially on the back. It has the right amount of blind shots and none of the quirkiness was especially unfair. There were a few times that knowing the course better would have saved me a few shots, but nothing dramatic.
One massive positive… The greens are in fantastic shape. I was impressed! The holes were not cut very well, but the greens themselves were well kept And rolled true.
The starter told me absolutely nothing about the course He also put a twosome ahead of me – I was in a foursome – and a twosome behind me. There were no Rangers out on the course and there were a few foursomes that were definitely needing to move up a set of tees.
Speaking of tees — One thing that would’ve massively influenced me was learning that the course DOES NOT put out BLUE TEES on the weekdays. So the furthest, Back said they had was the silver, which made the course incredibly short for me. (And somewhat annoyingly, they didn’t bother to tell me that until I was going up to the first tea, and I asked where the blue tees were! No signs talking about anywhere and no mention of it on the website that I saw)
Anyone that drives the ball 250 or more will find this course VERY short.
The driving range is apparently down the road a bit… It is not on the property. I had a sense of that based on what I read online, but I looked for it on my map and couldn’t find it and drove down the road a bit and just never saw anything that looked like a driving range. I guess it was probably another mile or two down? I’ll never know…
Most certainly had its charms. And it had some nice holes, but I spent the day avoiding errant shots From foursomes on either the previous hole or the next hole. My Heart actually got hit with a ball twice during the round. That’s a new record for me!
At the same time, I want to stress that it is not a “bad course” … It was in decent shape and Played relatively fair
I just want to get across that. I don’t think it’s anything special and I don’t think it’s worth making a trip to visit.
Maybe my expectations were too high, but I think a lot of people on this app need to remember that four stars and five stars are ratings meant for above average! And this course just isn’t.
Tanglewood is Great!
Tanglewood is a very well done golf course always in great shape. I enjoy playing it very much!
