Wyncote Golf Club

About
Wyncote Golf Club in Oxford is one of the most challenging courses in the area. The heathlands layout feels like a links course with wind being an important factor and thick fescue coming into play. The golf course starts with an especially tough front nine but there are more scoring opportunities on the back. Mounded bunkers and moguls define the movement of the fairways and though there aren't many trees, if you don't keep your shots straight you might find yourself out-of-bounds or lost in the high, wiry grass. Sidehill lies await you as well as a few blind shots. Wyncote's greens have little undulation but the lightning fast putting surfaces are a challenge for players of all skill levels. With a few "grip it and rip it" holes mixed in, Wyncote Golf Club is a tough but fair test.

Love it
Beautiful course that’s always in phenomenal condition
Great course but...
I love this golf course. But I don't know if I'll ever play it again. I don't live in the area and I play travel golf with my wife, who plays to a 12. The problem is that there are no ladies tees and the forward tees are just too long for her. Many par 4s are over 300 yards so driver/hybrid on most holes just isn't fun. It's too bad because I love the course.
First class
Every facet of the course and facilities was very nice,
Great course to play
Fantastic! Would recommend playing when weather is not hot. Lynx style so no shade.
Great Course
This is by far one of the best public golf courses in the area and is definitely worth the drive if you do not live near the course. The course is always well maintained and in excellent condition and I’ve never had an issue with pace of play. Course layout is challenging but fair with a good balance of long and short holes. This is definitely one of my favorite places to play. The only downside is that it does tend to run on the steeper side in terms of price and the few times I’ve been it has not been extremely crowded. I am not sure if that is just coincidence or a result of the pricing, but in either case I would absolutely recommend this course to anyone who asked.
Great course but not worth $110
Wyncote is a nice layout with some interesting holes and well maintained greens and bunkers, but it's not $110 course, which is the in season weekend rate until 2pm (yikes), that is also why there are tee times-a-plenty on weekend mornings. Maybe $80. That said, I do enjoy it, their food options are all very good, solid bar, no bev cart. You can drive a bit further for pilgrims oak $40 cheaper, inniscrone is a nice layout, Deerfield over in Delaware or broad run which is similar in price but a better, more challenging course. I don't understand the high price instead of filling your tee sheet.
WOW
If you like true links golf, like my brother and I, this is the place to play.
Shinnecock huh, go play Wyncote.
Great layout. Alicia and the rest of the staff were very personable and helpful.
Course was in magnificent condition, keep up the good work grounds crew.
Like I said I would definitely recommend this course to anyone.
Beautiful fairways
Very walkable course. Greens were fast and the fairways were immaculate.
Ok To Middle Of The Pack Good But Not Great
Most unimpressive staff ever encountered—place operates on prompted service and the employees and management aren’t engaging and appear to not like their jobs. Second time playing Wyncote and everything is still the same. Course is a good track but the lack of staff engagement to constantly get better makes it just plain boring good. Maybe the staff is only exhibiting the culturally norms for the small town and area however, they need to show some appreciation for folks who go well out of their normal commuting area to golf in the Pennsylvania cornfields. Pro shop is limited and if you want or need anything food or drink wise it’s go get it yourself and hope someone’s at their work station assignment…there’s water on the course for $1 per bottle so make sure to carry small bills or change for your rounded. Haven’t seen a player’s assistant in the 36 holes played. Group in front of us was playing slow and updating photo in their social media pages the entire back nine which slowed finishing severely. Extremely challenged service and product delivery excellence, but an ok to good place to stop off if you have plenty of time to spare and checkout the course for golfing only, so come prepared to be underwhelmed.
Great Course
First time playing this course and it did not disappoint. Check-in was quick and easy. Course conditions were near perfect, overall. Tee boxes were mostly even and in good shape, fairways were immaculate, greens were also in good condition. Of all of the courses I’ve played this year, the layout here was my favorite, not too congested or too spread out. For the evening rate of $45, I was still able to finish all 18 holes on a Saturday, so the pace of play and value were great. Will definitely be back!
In great shape!
Played a twilight round in a twosome on a Tuesday. First time playing there this year. The course was in beautiful shape, especially the fairways. Round took about 4 hours. Played from the whites, which was plenty of course for me. Rough was fair, but when you reach the native fescue, forget about it. Had a beer and tasty light dinner after in the restaurant, Paid $70 and thought it was well worth it. Recommended.
pretty nice
first time playing the course
the conditions were very good tee to green
layout/vista pretty nice
course difficulty is about mid
no forced carries or blind shots. almost everything is visible
do not care about amenities so sorry no feedback will be given
Fairways like spongy, bouncy carpet; teeboxes like greens
We played the course from the blues and it was extremely fair. Greens were running fast and some pin placements were very hard but that made it fun. The reviews over the years are spot on. This course is insanely well kept. One thing I noticed was that there were no rakes for the bunkers, since I spent more time in the sand than David Hasselhoff, this issue presented itself often. Long par threes also added to the fun with the shortest par 3 measuring around 165 yards. Overall, a great experience on a great course!
Beautiful course
Beautiful course all around.
Only issue we had was the pace of play.
