Chapel Hill Golf Course
About
Chapel Hill Golf Course in Reading enjoys a scenic backdrop of mature forests. The tucked away locale provides a peacefully secluded setting that is ideal for a round of golf. While it may not seem like a long layout at just under 6,150 yards, you'll soon forget about any lack of length once you get on the golf course. From the very first hole you're confronted with a water hazard, a stream that weaves around five other holes. The layout forces you to think through each hole, making the tough decision between going for it or laying up. Accurate shot placement is crucial throughout the golf course, especially on the back nine where there are several tricky doglegs and tough uneven lies. Mature trees tightly line the fairways at Chapel Hill Golf Course, and the greens are framed with strategically placed bunkers.

Lots of Improvements
Chapell Hill has made some great improvements and I was pleasantly surprised on the first outing there in 2019. The site amenities had improved, the course conditions had greatly improved....hole numbering was better and overall it was a great outing. The cart paths need some improvements but I have found that to be true at several other courses as well. Chapell Hill is well worth the trip for those that want to play the game........
Excellent Berks / Lancaster county Golf Destination
Chapel Hill Continues to be a beautiful golf course that plays through a beautiful wooded setting in Berks County. The course is manageable for the novice golfer while still providing challenges for the advanced golfer with its water and woods. The clubhouse staff and management continue to build lasting relationships with customers.
Hello, Lafronc10. Thank you for your 5-star rating! Please book another round with us soon.
Memorial Day Golf
I enjoyed a nice round of golf on a perfect this past Memorial Day 5/27/19! Chapel Hill is the kind of course that grows on you. It has a mix of nice, very playable holes to challenging but not overly hard holes. Its' the kind of course you have to play a few times to figure out where to hit the ball and how to putt the greens. I will definitely return to Chapel Hill!
Pace of play
Went off as a twosome with a reservation. Watched two singles walk up in a rush to get out ahead. Let them go no problem, by the 4th hole there were 5 singles trailing us. Why why why, would the course not pair them up! Absolutely ridiculous and for that reason I will not play the course again. By the way, we played incredibly fast and played disgusted that the course allowed.
Nice course, horrible cart paths
I played here for the first time last week. I enjoyed it! The course requires every shot in the bag. Nice variety, pretty landscape, and well kept. My greatest complaint is that the cart paths were in horrible condition! And I was there after the rain when it was cart path only. Even yet, I would go back and play here again
When you're here your family
Its always nice to walk in and be welcome like your family. Great family run business rising up dealing with the struggles of tremendous amounts of rain. Course is in great shape, greens are beautiful. Alway a fun time at the 19th.
Big changes
Lots of improvements already this year, the removal of some of the trees that made for some challenging shots in the past has really opened up the course. Hopefully the weather will cooperate this season and give the course a chance to completely dry out!
Nice greens, needs new cart paths
For a spring first time out round, this is the place to go.
Welcome back
Course was in pretty good shape despite the weather we've had, some wet areas, but not too bad overall. Greens were in great ahape. Grounds crew was out clearing up all the debris from this past Winter, looking forward to the upcoming season!
COURSE COULD BE IN BETTER SHAPE.I KNOW THE WET WEATHER IS PART OF THE PROBLEM.CART PATHS NEED TO BE FIXED
Worst conditions I have ever seen.
I’ve played here a couple of times before and the conditions have always been decent for the lower prices. Today was not the case and was beyond the worse conditions I have ever seen. The fairway looked as though it hadn’t been mowed in over a week. You had to search for your ball when it was in the middle of the “fairway”. Totally unacceptable. I understand if they cannot mow due to all the rain but a notice should be posted so you know ahead of time before paying money and teeing off. This will be he last time I ever play here as there are other options that have maintained much better conditions for similar prices in the area.
Extremely slow
Shortly before our scheduled tee time they sent out a scramble with around 5 different groups. Also, they sent another foursome and twosome. The entire front nine played slow. At the turn, they sent out another foursome in front of us on number 10. All in all the course was not in great shape which is understandable because of the amount of rain we have gotten recently. However, there were multiple tee boxes with no grass or only weeds.
The Baha
Cart paths were horrendous .. bunkers were terrible and course looked like it has been neglected. Need better signs to direct you to tee boxes.
Course was ok, no real challenge aside from hitting around the grounds crew. Nothing like waiting on the tee box for 10 minuets so a lawnmower continuing to cut the center of the fairway. On top of that kids with weed eaters driving through while trying to hit. Been looking for a home course to pay for a membership for next season but not really a fan. Will keep looking m.
Greens are very hard, cart path is awful
I only play this course when it’s a good deal. The course is pretty wet from the rain, but yet the greens are still hard as a rock. You got a nice approach shot on the green where you want and it just bounces in the air ,and off the green. Grass was very inconsistent every where on the course. The cart path is just atrocious. Course layout is fine. I wouldn’t spend more than $18 to play here.
Great Course, Great Value
I am actually not 100% sure about the date of my outing here, but I frequent this course and have never written a review. Chapel Hill is always in great condition compared to a lot of other courses that I have been to that cost up to four times the price. I would recommend this course to anyone looking for a fun, challenging, and friendly place to play a round of golf. I am looking forward to booking my next outing here, which will hopefully be withing the next week or two.
Great Place for a Quick Round
I have been playing here for about 6 years now. The course is a magnet for retired golfers, in the morning. Playing later in the morning or afternoon affords the opportunity of playing 9 holes in 90 minutes and 18 holes in about 3 hours (sometimes less). The layout is not very challenging, but the course has enough variation to keep things interesting. You can't beat the price to play 18/9, and the course is walkable. That being said, this course attracts recreational golfers who may not be well educated in proper etiquette and the rules of golf. If you get stuck behind these people, which you will at some point, you can bank on a long and frustrating day. I am not sure if the course is under new management, but there is definitely a push to make improvements to the course and the facilities, so if you haven't played here in a while, give it a shot, you might be impressed.
Another Great Price on a Great Day.
I had not played here for a while because of all the wet weather. Its not fun when its swampy. I thought that the course was a little dry. The greens were not holding that well. Big bounces'. Otherwise it was a perfect day with great low 80s temps. Ill be back and I love playing the Blue tees for the challenge.
