Chapel Hill Golf Course
About
Chapel Hill Golf Course in Reading enjoys a scenic backdrop of mature forests. The tucked away locale provides a peacefully secluded setting that is ideal for a round of golf. While it may not seem like a long layout at just under 6,150 yards, you'll soon forget about any lack of length once you get on the golf course. From the very first hole you're confronted with a water hazard, a stream that weaves around five other holes. The layout forces you to think through each hole, making the tough decision between going for it or laying up. Accurate shot placement is crucial throughout the golf course, especially on the back nine where there are several tricky doglegs and tough uneven lies. Mature trees tightly line the fairways at Chapel Hill Golf Course, and the greens are framed with strategically placed bunkers.

Nice course
Chapel Hill is a decent course. The layout is nice and you will have to use judgement on what to use off the tee. A lot of the front nine has water hazards.
The things I didn't care for are you will have to watch for erratic shots from other players. I was almost hit twice while I was playing one hole. I didn't hear one warning call. Chapel Hill can't help this but I found it surprising. The cart paths need redone
Nice course
I was the first time playing the course for my wife and I. it is in great condition considering all of the rain we have been getting. I definitely recommend it . A nice layout for the holes. The only thing that needs improvement is the cart paths. If you Have any open drinks in the cart, you will be wearing them.
Nice Layout - Poorly Maintained
I've played Chapel Hill a couple of times before and wasn't thrilled with the course maintenance, but thought I'd give it another try. Now, I realize it's very early in the season and courses are just beginning to officially open, but Chapel Hill is simply poorly maintained. Drainage is awful - the course always seems soggy. The cart paths are cart paths in name only. You do NOT want to drive on them unless you're trying to induce labor or knock fillings out of your teeth. The carts themselves are the worst I've ever seen. This is a year round issue, not an early season issue.
On the positive side the people are friendly, the layout is cool and challenging. Lots of different shots to take and really tests your course management skills as a golfer. And the prices are great. It's all trade offs.
If they can improve course maintenance I'd give it four stars.
Great value
Played with my buddy 65 degrees in February. Course was packed which we expected. Hole 17 was closed due to the previous rain. Pace of play wasn't bad for how packed it was. Very nice course and very nice people. I would definitely come back in the spring.
Nice course
I played a while back. The course was just fine for all skill levels. It's a little far from my house, otherwise I would have been back. I just want to make a mention about any experiences with slow play no matter where the course. If the group in front has more than 1 empty hole in front of them the proper etiquette is they let you play on through, at your asking. Just ask. Give 'em a holler and a wave and wait for the go-ahead.
Nice variety to holes. Not busy during the week
This has been my go to course as I don't usually plan ahead on when to play. The holes have a significant amount of variation due to terrain and trees. Course condition is ok for the price.
Slow Play
Course was in excellent shape considering the lack of rain in the area, pace of play was extremely slow since the course did not enforce fivesomes playing together.
Hi MULLYMAN,
Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your round due to the pace of play. We'would love to have you back to the course. Please email us at chapelhillgc@gmail.com.

Home course
I play here at least 2x a week. Ill be back again...Take enough balls. Lots of water. FUN!
A nice Challange
Chapel Hill is a nice test for the recreational golfer. For me this is not a grip it and rip it type of course. It is laid out in a way that a average player has to consider their carry off the tee box. Strategically placed water hazards and bunkers seemed to always be in play for me. Also there are some holes (#8) that are pretty narrow and will punish you on any errant drive. The course is in great condition. Greens are pretty flat and on the day I played they had a nice pace maybe on the slower side. It can get crowded but the pace was fair. The staff could be alittle more friendly but they are OK. I would recommend this course if you want to test your course management skills.
Beautiful course.
Beautiful course. Cart path need maintenance.
Golf now
The greatest golf app ever. It's the only way I play golf now. Ultra satisfied.
Good value
Greens were in very good condtion. Fun layout with a good mix of short and long par 4s.
Driver not so much
Course is shorter then most I play but they have 4 distinct tees on many of the holes so you can bomb it but you better be straight.
I was a single and a theeesome let me start ahead of them. I caught up to a
foursome who let me play through at the first par 3. At the tenth I stopped for a dog and again a foursome let me play through.
It seemed that the grass cutting had gotten away from the grounds keepers but they were working to catch up.
Enjoyed my round and the club house ladies were great.
Course is in great shape
Course was in excellent condition. Always love playing at Chapel Hill.
course has some holes u must use course mangement, greens r in good shape
Friendly staff and good play it about 20 times per year
Tricky course with great character
Chapel Hill is always a nice experience. I enjoyed playing there years ago and took a day off to go back and give it another go. The course is as I remember it, challenging. There are some tight holes, tricky green reads, and plenty of hazards that can prove to be a challenge to avoid. The course isn't too long so it opens up to a wide range of golfers. Play the blue tees to be a bit over 6 thousand yards and it makes for a few lengthy holes. Playing the course in October with fresh cut greens proved to be hard to hold when hitting high approach shots in. The greens did putt nicely with some tricky pin placements and breaks that can be a challenge to gauge. Overall the course is very scoreable, but can creep up on you if you find yourself out of position on particular holes. Great value for the money as the course has a nice layout.
Great layout.
Tee boxes and greens were great. Fairways need a better type of grass. Too many tight lies. Cart path needs work and ball washers need maintenance. Has great potential but money has to be spent.
If you have 5 hours golf here
I have golfed at this course before and it is fine, however do not play on weekends. I know weekends are slower play but this is ridiculous. So ridiculous after nine holes we left. I waited on one hole over 30 minutes just to play it. We started at 11 and at 1:30 we were just starting #9. It makes it very hard to get a rhythm. I do not mind waiting but this was crazy!!! I hope during the week is better.
