Chapel Hill Golf Course
About
Chapel Hill Golf Course in Reading enjoys a scenic backdrop of mature forests. The tucked away locale provides a peacefully secluded setting that is ideal for a round of golf. While it may not seem like a long layout at just under 6,150 yards, you'll soon forget about any lack of length once you get on the golf course. From the very first hole you're confronted with a water hazard, a stream that weaves around five other holes. The layout forces you to think through each hole, making the tough decision between going for it or laying up. Accurate shot placement is crucial throughout the golf course, especially on the back nine where there are several tricky doglegs and tough uneven lies. Mature trees tightly line the fairways at Chapel Hill Golf Course, and the greens are framed with strategically placed bunkers.

Great layout.
Tee boxes and greens were great. Fairways need a better type of grass. Too many tight lies. Cart path needs work and ball washers need maintenance. Has great potential but money has to be spent.
If you have 5 hours golf here
I have golfed at this course before and it is fine, however do not play on weekends. I know weekends are slower play but this is ridiculous. So ridiculous after nine holes we left. I waited on one hole over 30 minutes just to play it. We started at 11 and at 1:30 we were just starting #9. It makes it very hard to get a rhythm. I do not mind waiting but this was crazy!!! I hope during the week is better.
Bugs
I have to remember the next time I play this course, to bring my bug spray with me. I suppose it is due to the standing water in the ponds. Otherwise, I really like this course.
Good Value
Great value for the money. Could use some work on cart paths and a few tee boxes, but course itself was in great condition. Will play there again.
Awful shape
This is the poorest course condition-wise i have played. The cart paths are dreadful...holes everywhere and falling apart. The cart didnt steer properly and barely made it up some hills. The tee boxes, for almost half the holes, were dead grass and dirt. Trying to set a tee was like pounding a nail into a brick. Ponds were covered in algae. Green conditions were inconsistent. Will not be back.
Nice facility
I only gave course conditions 4 stars because it had rained a lot that morning and the previous day. The course was beautiful and challenging, but all courses are challenging to me I'm a beginner. It was a nice day out for my wife and I and the value was superb.
Nice greens
Narrow and short but you must make good shots. Greens in great shape and tough which makes approaches more critical.
One of my Favorites
I've played this course almost a dozen times in the past 2 years, being a beginner in the game I've definetly started seeing the difference between hard courses and tough courses. It's a par 70 that I always have a blast playing .. Some holes you gotta approach with caution but for the most part you can just go out and swing away lol. The staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is always great.. I will be returning to chapel hill
Poor conditions right now.
The mowers must and fertilizers must be broken. Dandelion is everywhere with huge fields of it in some areas. Rough and fairways are much higher than normal. Just needs to be cut more often. Slows down pace of play when you can't find a ball a few feet off a fairway or green. Play here a lot and it is like playing a different course now.
Nice Course
I have played Chapel Hill before and my experience was very good in both cases. The greens, fairways, and tee boxes are in good shape. The cart paths could use some maintenance but overall a good value for the money.
Hidden Gem
Say hi to Jimmy the Greek (course management)
This course is a challenge with it's tightness and sloping greens. Had a really good time and played with my GF who used her free birthday round.
Best Greens
The condition of the course was very good. The greens were the best I have played on this year. The grass around the greens was lush and grab grass free.
Over all it was a very nice round of golf. Thanks!
rating
best 18 holes ever because I made my first hole-in-one
it took me 65yrs. but I did it
A pleasant experience.
The course was in good condition, pace of play was excellent. Course is challenging but not punishing.
nice course for the money
Played this course for the first time after having to cancel at another course. Overall condition of the course was good. Cart paths absolutely need to be repaired/redone. Shot selection is a must- no grip it and rip it here. course actually set up well to my shot distances. Would play again for the price I got to play for.
friendly
this was a good Golf Now value, and Kim the manager is terrific, well done.
Local Gem
Fairways and greens are well maintained here. The rough was long enough to penalize you if you stayed into it. Easy to find good deals here. I'll be back.
This course is tight at some holes so it plays a bit harder at times.
Enjoyed our selves greatly, event went a second round. t was a great day.
Course in Great Shape
I play Chapel Hill regularly and all season the course has been in great shape. The front nine is quite challenging and requires some thinking in terms of club selection because of many holes with water hazards. The back nine is less challenging and more open for the most part.
The only complaint I have is that it is not marked at the tee boxes how far it is to the water hazards from the tee. However, that does not keep me from coming back.
short, well maintained course
well maintained course, greens in excellent shape, parts roll smoothly.shot placement and distance very important to scoring well.played early in the morning done within 3 hours, great rate through hot deals on golfNow.
