Chapel Hill Golf Course
About
Chapel Hill Golf Course in Reading enjoys a scenic backdrop of mature forests. The tucked away locale provides a peacefully secluded setting that is ideal for a round of golf. While it may not seem like a long layout at just under 6,150 yards, you'll soon forget about any lack of length once you get on the golf course. From the very first hole you're confronted with a water hazard, a stream that weaves around five other holes. The layout forces you to think through each hole, making the tough decision between going for it or laying up. Accurate shot placement is crucial throughout the golf course, especially on the back nine where there are several tricky doglegs and tough uneven lies. Mature trees tightly line the fairways at Chapel Hill Golf Course, and the greens are framed with strategically placed bunkers.

Good Round considering
My buddy & I recently played Chapel Hill. He & I both shot pretty decent scores. I really enjoy playing this course especially because it is usually extremely affordable & in good overall shape. It is early in the season this year and with a rough winter and add to the fact that we just recently got some more sleet and rain the course was pretty mushy. Although that was to be expected & no fault of the staff or the course...Chapel Hill will be Much nicer to play come May! We will be back for sure. & When the course dries out & those greens aren't plugged I expect to be coming back often!
Always friendly
Played on a very windy day, with fairways that
hadn't dried out yet from our wet winter and
spring. Still one of my favorite courses with a good selection of tee boxes for all golfers. I know they will be keeping it in good shape and fair prices!
placement golf
I have played this course numerous times. water comes into play a lot with tee shots. we played after hard rain night before and course was soaked and plugged balls. greens and fairway we need tlc. greens were very bumpy and slow. hopefully they will get rolled soon.
always a good round at Chapel Hill
Greens could be a touch faster, but not not complaining. Great challenge from the tips.
great place to play
always enjoy playing here.usally in good shape.pace of play was good today..had a lot fun & played well too.
Nice course, Nice people Nice rates
The course is nice, and somewhat challenging. Tight fairways and blind shots make accuracy a must. Course is in good shape for the most part. For the price, it is a good value.
Great price on golfnow.com for this course and it needs TLC
This course is really in need of some TLC for the tee boxes, sand traps and especially the greens. The fairways are the best part of this course in terms of condition and the course is fairly forgiving till you land in a trap.
The greens need cut better and more regularly. With the balance of rain and sun and lower summer temperatures, this course should be in much better shape than it is. Also, it is off the beaten path a bit more than others so people out of the area may find it a challenge to find.
The best part of this course is that through golfnow.com, you can get sub-$20 rounds regularly here (including cart and 18 holes) so that creates more value to work on your game. It is not usually crowded here either so that is a plus. The course is not long and is fairly wide open if you can stay out of the water.
the course is in great shape mostly, but the cart paths are awful
nice course. bumpy paths, but i guess that doesnt really matter.
Enjoyable course for the budget-minded.
Played from the Blue tees for the first time. Challenging and much different than the White tees. Shot placement to avoid multiple water hazards is still very important. I miss the very specific yardages that Chapel Hill used to have on all scorecards and signs at each tee. Those should still be available for a small fee if not free. Great deal ($7+ fees) on GolfNow!!
Course has a few ugly greens and fairways but the price was $15
The course appears to be lacking attention but the price was too good at $15
Course in great shape
Very surprised how well maintained the greens, tee boxes and all are on this course this late into the year. Enjoyed this course and will play it again.
Not a bad course for the price.
There is really no problem with this course except that it seems like a few of the fairways don't get enough sun and were waterlogged. Other than that course was fine. Nice greens and an interesting setup, not much back and forth. For the price you can get on Golfnow, definitely worth a play. I'll be back for sure.
Worth the drive!
It took me about 50 minutes to get to Chapel Hill in Reading... and it is definitely worth the drive. Great price on golf now. Tee boxes ok maybe a little crowned, fairways in decent shape despite all the heat recently and greens relatively fast which is what i prefer. Looked as though the bunkers recently had fresh white sand added which was great. Fairway yardage clearly marked on the sprinkler heads. Cart paths were probably the worst i've seen in a while so put those head covers back on. The course was a little hard to navigate especially hole 11 which has two tee box locations and it wasnt marked which tee box to use, some of the holes were missing yardage signs at the tee boxes. There is a lot of water in play so you have to choose your clubs wisely which was exciting. Definitely a risk and reward course, If your feeling froggy go with the driver. i personally used hybrids and woods off the tee which worked to my advantage. It helps to know the yardage to the hazards and none were marked. I tee'd off at 4 pm on a beautiful saturday afternoon and it only took 3 hours to play, awesome. All in all this course will definitely be in my rotation.
Greens are the best feature
Despite the really hot weather, the greens were in excellent condition. They were receptive and ran true. The fairways were in good shape too, with distances marked on every sprinkler head in addition to the 200, 150, and 100 disks and lines on cart paths. There are some holes that require 180 yard lay-ups in front of water that can cause problems if you are unsure of distances to the hazards, and a few holes where the ponds are not really visible off the tee and a player unfamiliar with the course may be surprised. A few mostly shaded tee boxes have difficulty growing grass. Only 2 par 5s on this par 70 course.
Good layout and was able to finish in 3 1/2 hours.
Course was in adequate shape after recent soaking rainfall but it didn't seem any attempt was made to pump water out of bunkers. Can usually deal with wet sand, but not standing water.
This coarse is very well maintained
Super clean, beautiful scenery, super coarse for seniors, like myself.
Nice course
We played it first time yesterday. Good impression and decided to play today.
Good course, friendly people
The staff, both at the clubhouse and the bar, are really friendly. The course was in good shape. The fairways could have been a little shorter, but not bad enough to complain. The course has some hazards and bunkers that make it challenging. It's definitely a course management type course.
The only negative is the dated course signs. As first timers here, my group did not always know where to go. Also, there was no help on the course for distance to hazards, either on the hole sign or the score card.
Fun course to play
this course is fun to play with alot of options off the tee, many hazards in play so you have to think your way around this course, hitting a driver is not always your best option. At the price we payed though Golf Now this was a great bargin not to mention the course was in great shape. We loved it!
