rough shape
Played this course on april 21st. the fairways were on poor condition and the greens were in even worse shape. all of the carts at spring hollow do not have windshields and are in need of replacement. A lot of improvements need to be done to this course before I would come back
Beautiful and tricky
This is a beautiful course that can be very challenging with wind. Always well taken care of with gorgeous views. The staff is always friendly and courteous
decent course
There are a lot of hills and valleys but not many that really alter your game. There are a few holes with blind landings that make it very tough to find your ball in the thick rough. The ninth forces a short iron off the tee and then a tough downhill lie makes the long approach over tall OB grass a very tough hole. Greens were fast and hard but in good condition aside from several ball marks not repaired by previous players. Played at a discount and I don't know if I'd play there again at full price.
Great course @ good staff @ a Good price
Good course for family , friends. Great prices also looks to be great for events.
I love this course
Nasty day weather wise I played in about 3 hrs. Course was in great shape
great value
well done by all, good value, fine fun fun fun course.
Nice Staff,Nice Course great rates.
Course was in very nice shape for a Monday. Greens were fast and challenging. Last five holes are beautiful scenic holes. Staff are all very friendly unlike the other course over that way on route 23. Try Spring Hollow and have fun.
awsome staff
I had one the most fun rounds ever. . Tha staff was great and the course was even better. . . with the rough being alittle long it made just callenging enough to enjoy the round. . . I did eagle the uphill par 5 on the front 9 which made my day alot better but I would have anyone I know play this course and I will be telling people about my experience at spring hollow. Thanks again to the staff for a really well priced day of fun on the golf course. . .
location location location
This is an awesome lil course...it challenges you at every turn....you dont have to be a big hitter but you can be.....the greens need work and should be hand cut instead of the machines tearing them up...but they will make you crazy.....i drove 2 1/2 hours to play and will absolutly do it again....the elevation changes are so rare for this area....try this place you wont be dissapointed
Excellent Condition, Yardages Off on a Few Holes
I think Spring Hollow is a fine course. Hilly, challenging, fun to play. My only beef was that the yardages were a bit off on some holes. Take for instance the 2nd hole, which is marked as 376 yards. I hit a driver into the hill, my app measured it at 212 yards, within 70 yards. The GPS app correctly reported 276. We didn't see the score card, but online score cards report it as being in the 6000 yard range, but it probably plays a bit shorter than that. But it doesn't detract from the fact that it was in perfect condition, with maybe less than a handful of brown patches of grass, and it's hilly and challenging, and the pace was great.
The 18th hole is a signature hole. Sitting up there with the pin in the front, and 142 yards on the GPS to the front of the green, with water just a few yards shy, it was a gutsy move when my friend and I both chose the club to barely get us there. But we were both inside 20 feet.
This course has potential.
Good course with a lot of interesting and challenging hole layouts but I have never experienced worse greens. Some of the greens were so hard and dry, that the soil under had visible cracks running through it. How can you judge a "crack" in the green to putt?! Besides greens that were like concrete, the fairways were the same but atleast it gives you the chance to run your tee-shot. If your going to charge a country club fee, please provide somewhat of country club like conditions. 46$ on a weekday for those conditions is ridiculous when there are many other courses in the area that are cheaper and maintained extremely well. I will be back in a few weeks for a prepaid golf tournament, I hope these conditions will be improved by then.
Ridiculously under watered greens
The Bad: The course is short. Does not play remotely close to the yardage's listed on the scorecard. The greens on the front side are borderline unfair. They were dry as a bone and very bumpy. The sand was dirt.
3/18 greens held shots. 9, 17 &18
The Good: The prices were very reasonable. Water was a buck. Green fees were fair for what you get. There are a few nice holes scattered amongst the lot.
The superb: The restaurant/grill..
Decent cheap course
Spring Hollow is a decent public track if you want to get in an easy, cheap round. Very hilly so you get a lot of funky lies. A little gimmicky but a fun course to play.
good for short hitters
course plays shorter than yardage.front nine is like a trick shot course with blind shots off the tee and doglegs you are unable to see. par 3 green is so unfair you could 10 put from 6feet. back is more visible but very easy.
Conditions were excellent.
Fairways and greens were excellent and the rough was moderate. Greens were unusually fast and a little hard. Elevation changes on the back make this course.
nice day
nice to play after a soaking rain. Good drainage and the greens will hold better.
Enjoyed playing the course...very fast greens
The course was in very good shape for this time of year and would make the 47 minute drive to play again. The green we're fast ... :o
Worth playin a round
I have played here before and have always enjoyed myself. It was a windy day, and the greens were like putting on granite (i dont think they have cut them but probably rolled them). It is defiantely a course you should play to see how you like it. Very hilly, which makes some holes shorter and some longer.
