Got out before the heat
Seemed like everyone had the same idea. It was a bit crowded.
Had to quit after 9
I am not typically a review person but this round warranted one. My only positive experience was that my partner was late 10 minutes and they said “don’t worry we will get you out”. Little did I know what they were setting me up for.
Regardless if we went off at our scheduled time or 10 minutes late we still would’ve wound up in the cluster f we found ourselves in by hole 3. It got some bad that at 9 we were watching the group ahead of us wait to tee off due to the foursome ahead of them (who was waiting on someone else) and we had to groups behind us finish 8 while we waited. We literally had 15 people trying to play the same hole.
At that point we were 2.5 hours into the round with most likely a 3 hour back 9, so we called it a day. I went into the pro shop to ask for a 9 hole voucher but he wouldn’t because we booked through Golfnow. I said “you can’t just write up a manual certificate for a later date to show good customer service” he said no but I will refund the cart fee. The cart fee is a whole other gripe of mine! The round appears very affordable on golf now but when you get there to add your cart (which you can’t do online) they charge each person $24!! When you combine the online rate plus cart fee is becomes a way overpriced course even if pace of play was ok. The course is myself was pretty hard and burnt, very hard to take divots which isn’t really acceptable considering the other local courses do not look like this with all the rain we have got. It was also 90 degrees and humid and after 2.5 hours I finally saw the beverage cart at hole 9 to get a Gatorade and I bought 2 more because it looked like I most likely wouldn’t see her again the rest of the round (had I actually finished).
Overall it was a bad experience but I do understand things happen and under these extraordinary circumstances I have to give people a pass one time. Like I said, other courses aren’t having these issues but I was willing to try again if they were able to give me a voucher. I am a local resident SSB was excited to try my my local course and potentially become a member but sadly I don’t think this is the club for me based on my first experience. I truly hope others have a better experience and I was just caught up on the wrong day.
Great value
Great value for a challenging course. Great dogleg holes and find par 3s. 18 holes took 4 1/2 hours on Thursday at 9:40am. A bit long but the course is beautifully manicured and plays well. Challenging but fun!
Country
This is a nicely maintained course with a friendly staff and good food and drink after the round. What else do you need.
Good course, excellent staff
The course is interesting, with the back nine requiring you to think and strategize many different types of shots. The pro shop staff is great and always accommodate your preferences, and the course conditions are very good.
Fun Day !!
Course in nice shape !! Staff excellent !! A fun day on the links
You should play here
Nicely kept and well laid out course that provides fair chances for the average golfer while offering risk/reward opportunities for low handicap players.
Communication could be better when booking on GolfNow
Paid for a Tee time with a cart and they where confused when I got there.
I had to show them proof that I paid for a tee time with a cart.
Great Surprise1
First time playing course. What a delight! Interesting layout. Friendly folks in Pro Shop. Played with some members who were congenial and a lot of fun.
