Hole four, par-3, 162: The tee shot must be a good one to this raised green (seen from behind). Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/23/2024

Hole six, par-3, 181: Set by a pond and further guarded by a left-side bunker, the green undulates mildly. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/23/2024

The ninth, par-4, 370: Your second shot into the hilltop green must be both well-judged and accurate. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/23/2024

The tenth: Classic uphill par-5. The fairway weaves around several obstacles that are best avoided. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/23/2024

Hole seventeen, par-4, 315: One of the few holes at Fenner Hill that plays to a relatively narrow and tight landing zone. The approach is also tough. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/23/2024

The eighteenth. This 455-yard par-4 is not only long but tight. The drive is best hit carefully up the left side, and the approach may be even tougher. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/23/2024

Tough greens
Very friendly staff. The pro let us go ahead of him since he was given a lesson which I thought was very good. After seven holes we caught up to a five sum playing in front of us, after that we had to wait every hole on the front nine. I happened to see the pro who was given the lesson and said something he told me to tell the pro shop. Well he must have called by the time we made the turn to the 10th they had a ranger out there it was not really to five-some that was slowing us up. It was a group ahead of them. I tell you this because I thought it was very good of the course to correct the situation. The course is fun challenging with the greens my group would definitely go back .again
Windy day
Cool windy day. Pace of play was very good. Fairways were in great shape. Greens had been recently aerated and were still bumpy an sandy. Overall not a bad day, just not great for trying out my new putter.
Open and Beautiful
I wish this course was closer to my house; it's links-adjacent, with many wide open holes and challenging green-side surrounds. I was a little disappointed by the quality of the bunkers, which had very rocky sand, but the layout was tremendous and the course gives plenty of challenges for all levels. I played from the blue tees and was forced to make tough decisions all day. There might not be a flat green on the entire property, and though they had recently been aerated, they played mostly fair. I'll look forward to playing this course again.
Always enjoy Fenner
The course was in good shape , the only issue was the greens were aerated, sure be in great shape in a couple of weeks
Aerating greens
The greens have been aerated and were very bumpy and Sandy. There should be a listing just to let people know when this occurs.
Great course. Back 9 very nice but difficult layout. Greens were in fair to poor condition since they were recently aerated.
Great location and value
Driving nets, putting green, chipping green.
Walkable but easier with a cart.
Mix of challenging narrow holes along with some more forgiving holes.
Outstanding value, espcially with GN deals.
Finally back
After years between rounds here, I had forgotten how hilly the course is. A really tough walk on a hot, humid day, but I've ridden onto my sunset years a decade ago. Fast greens, nice fairways and tees. Finished our round in about 4&1/2 and missed the bar closing at 4:00- the only negative. The Wood River Bar & Grill is a short drive north.
Strongly Recommend
Really unique. Several memorable holes. Always worthwhile. Challenging for sure. Tricky greens.
Nice people, and usually in good condition.
Awesome course for the price
Really surprised, got a “hot deal” for 44.00 after lunch.
My son is learning to play and the goat track we usually go to is the same price. I wanted hit to see a real course.
Greens were fast, and big, course was in good condition and it is a fun layout. I will be back!!
Under appreciated
Fenner is RI most underrated course. Always in good shape. Always good service
We'll be back
First leg of a golf weekend. Good layout, good condition. Nice little pub. The only negative was the the drink cart. She only came around once in 18 holes.
