Hole four, par-3, 162: The tee shot must be a good one to this raised green (seen from behind). Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/23/2024
-
Hole six, par-3, 181: Set by a pond and further guarded by a left-side bunker, the green undulates mildly. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/23/2024

The ninth, par-4, 370: Your second shot into the hilltop green must be both well-judged and accurate. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/23/2024

The tenth: Classic uphill par-5. The fairway weaves around several obstacles that are best avoided. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/23/2024

Hole seventeen, par-4, 315: One of the few holes at Fenner Hill that plays to a relatively narrow and tight landing zone. The approach is also tough. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/23/2024

The eighteenth. This 455-yard par-4 is not only long but tight. The drive is best hit carefully up the left side, and the approach may be even tougher. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 11/23/2024

TOUGH greens, GREAT track!
Some of the most movement on the green I have seen. Great track, this was my first time here. Pace was decent-slow for a Saturday. Great track, will be back no doubt.
Fenner
Course was challenging for moderate skilled players. It was a mixed of open and tight fairways, greens were fun to put, with some challenging breaks.
Great Track
Nice layout with lots of stone walls, water views, marshes and birds.
Pace of Play was great. The course is in great shape. Greens are challenging with contours on every hole.
Tough greens
Greens are tough, firm and fast. Fairways are decent but that’s it for anything else, rough is choppy bunkers are Stoney, just not in good shape…pace of play horrible
Nice Course for Short Money
Great layout with challenging greens if you're above the Pin. Course was very fair with excellent fairway conditions for early in the season. No flat putts so approach shots are key. They have a scratch kitchen at the clubhouse but was not able to stay.. Hopefully next time..
Great course better ownership
Fenner is one of the most consistently maintained and reliable courses in the area. Pace of play is good
Definitely worth playing
Semi Private Muni
Great staff and price but when you advertise being semi private, i dont anticipate making the drive for a 5 and a half to 6 hour round to include beat up tee boxes and rocky bunkers. I give some grace for fairways having long grass but again, for semi private the fairway grass shouldnt stand as tall as the height of my ball.
Fantastic
This course is excellent desisigned by the owner and is very challenging the kitchen is all from scratch and most excellent food and they have some local craft beers on tap even if you don't golf and just go for dinner you won't be disappointed
very good course, great shape
I have played Fenner Hill several time and always find conditions nice. Today was no exception. Fairways and tees green despite drought conditions in our area. Had planned to play different course nearby but upon arrival at that course it was brown. So, I called my friend and told him to go to Fenner Hill. Staff very friendly and we got right off. Carts in ok shape, wish they had USB port, but they are older carts. Greens were all same speed and lush. Stopped in Pub after round for ice cold beer and lunch. Again, friendly bartender and food was very good. All in all a good day on the links.
Blind Man's Bluff
I've played this course twice and I think that's enough. Let me explain. The greens are frustrating to putt. The bent grass rolls the ball like you were putting on the spackle on your ceiling. Most greens have sand traps next to them but the issues is the sand quality itself. There are lots of little pebbles that get sprayed on the green. You try to clear off as many as you can but annoying to have to do it on every green. There are alot of blind shots on the front nine which makes it dangerous. Especially if the group behind you is walking so they don't know if it's clear to hit or not. The back nine has many holes close to each other. There is not a lot of tree or bush landscape to protect you from someone's errant shot. I was putting on the 6th hole and 12th hole when another group's tee shot landed close to where I was putting. We were almost hit on the 14th tee box and 14th green again. There is some traffic noise from I-95 so if anyone yelled "Fore", we couldn't here it. It made me nervous standing over my shots not knowing if there would be anymore incoming way word shots. Bottom line is upgrade your sand and fix some protective landscaping and/or fencing with nets to protect the golfers.
Very nice course
It was the first time playing here, and it won’t be the last. The course is very open, with some nice holes. The greens were large and had some nice nuances to them. Very little water, decent amount of traps. The greens were very well kept, as were the fairways. With our drought like conditions, once off of the fairways it was burned out, as is all courses in the area now. Wish I would have played better, but it was all on me. We started the round with a Bloody Mary, would recommend it! After the round we stopped in for a few beverages and a sandwich...overall a great day!
