Disappointing
In it's day, I bet this was a terrific course. Almost 80% of the greens were terrible to putt. We had a two-putt max. Great layout, but confusing where the next hole was... vague or no signage, especially on 5 and 6.
At least we could swing a club.
Stay Away
This course is in terrible shape.
What little amount of grass that is on the greens are plugs. Was told the sprinkler system broke last year is the reason it is in such bad shape. The rest of the course is not much better.
Was not told the poor condition of the course when I called and made a tee time. Only after we had paid were we advised of the greens being in bad shape.
Golfnow should remove them until they get a handle on things. Doesn't reflect well on them to promote a course in such bad shape.
For the money it’s worth it! Some greens need work! Most are good conditions definitely soft greens!
Some greens need to be rebuilt
Classic Donald Ross layout in sad neglect but still worth the visit. About half the greens are automatically two putts. Not the place for your group tournament.
DO NOT BOOK AT 9:30
Do not book this course no later than 10am. Their operation hours are not the same as they give the hot deals or tee-times for. I made a tee time at 9:30, I drove an hour to arrive at 8:45 to find the course completely empty. No staff. Place was locked up. As well as, pictures on the course are not as shown at the course during December.
Pleasant round
The coarse was in good shape and the staff were very friendly and helpful as usual. The coarse is very open and user-friendly. Would recommend to anyone
Terrible
Save your money. Go across the street and play the state park. Standing water everywhere. Dead greens every other hole. Wasted my money and time. 20 dollars worth of range balls would have been better.
Beautiful course
This was a beautiful course with great holes. There was good holes that challenged you. The pro shop is very nice. Great warm up areas as well.
great round of golf....very difficult back nine with a lot of water hazzards....super interesting
course is much improved with greens very put a ble...except no. 1.
The course is wet
It’s a decent golf course with a great value. The course is wet due to the recent rain around this area. Hopefully when it dry out the green can keep up.
Great Potential If...
The signature or first hole will draw you in. Located across the street from Cheraw State Park Golf Course. Cheraw Country Club as it is reffered to now Moree Country Club and Golf Course is a big miss!!! First off the grass along the fairways are so tall that you are penalized for a great shot that may roll off a few inches to a foot off the fairways. Balls are lost in plain sight! A few holes had intermittent high grass growth in the middle of the fairways. This slows down the speed of play. Having to look for a ball in the middle of the fairway is no fun. Even along the greens the grass is so high that again a good shot on the fringe or a little off is lost! Grass so tall snakes can lie and wait in it without you seeing them before stepping on one or dangerously close! No place for children or younger golfers. The risk of getting bit is way too high with all the tall grass alongside of the bunkers and fairways! Nothing attractive about the tall grass along the fairways or greens! Waiting for guys to look for balls on good shots is too time consumig and slows the pace of play. I get the course is operating on a small budget but even on a budget the grasss should be kept cut on the regular! Daily! No way does $20-$35 justify playing this course until work or progress is made on simple things! Not saying turn it into Cheraw State Park or Pinehurst overnight but at least show some care, quality and work toward making it better. Do the simple things first!
What was right; Customers service was nice and friendly. The young lady and gentlemen in was very nice. Ball prices was great! That goes along way in spite of the failure of the course to produce a quality golf experience. Until changes happen my group and I will opt for the better maintained course across the street. Cheraw State Park.
Morees does have the pontiental to be a great course but the care and committment is not there. they want even cut the grass or make clear designated cart parths. What gives ? You want $25-30 for a $10-$15 dollar product. Golf is a working mans game as well and we work too hard to give our money away for a less than par experience.
Carts were awesome by the way!
It has som good challenges
The course is having to deal with the dry hot weather but is overall in fair shape. I enjoyed playing
Want to cancel
Double booked myself by mistake on same day and time with morees golf course played one round on 5/24/2019 to cancel the other conformation number 324834697 please
Potential, but needs work.
Play here on my way home from Florence. Course not great or good. Fairway need work. Greens are a little better. Course difficult to navigate especially going from 3 to 4 and 16 to 17. Carts are driven on Par 3s. Cart paths hit or miss. Back 9 was once probably beautiful. Carts seem to be new and are in great shape. Bunkers varied from good to poor. Given the amount of rain fall and temps I expected better. Coures has very easy holes and a few challenging ones especially in back 9.
