Cheraw State Park Golf Course

The course was in good shape and the staff is always friendly.

The pace of play was terrible. I have played here plenty of times and don’t know what the issue was on this day. It took 5+ hours and it typically takes our group 3.5 hours to play. It felt like we played in a captain choice tournament.

Very good, well designed golf course with no homes along the fairways.Wide fairways but that is part of the test due to angles into some of the greens which are mostly well bunkered. Good value for the money.

I don’t think there’s a Better course for the money in North or South Carolina. Tee to Greens are in excellent shape. The only negative are the gnats. Next time I will bring bug spray.

Course was great, but we got hopped on the first tee by the people with the tee time after us while we were on the putting green. These individuals proceeded to play incredibly slowly and would not let us play through. My only recommendation would be to have a ranger go around every half hour or so to ensure the pace of play is kept up.

Other than that, the course was in fantastic condition and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

This is a great course with excellent greens and fairways. The bunkers are just ok and some cart paths are root bound. I would love to play this course every week. Dollar value can't be beat. No houses in this state park.

First impression was really good as the clubhouse staff was very friendly and helpful. Greens fee included cart and range balls. Range is convenient and has plenty of room. Good putting and chipping areas as well. Course layout and condition was excellent, even in 100* heat! Finally, the snack bar was nice and offered a good selection. Kind of off the beaten path, but we will definitely get back out there again soon.

Played with my son on Father’s Day- they just areated the greens so putting was tough- but the course was in great shape and we will be back

Overall we love Cheraw State Park, Saturday felt the rates should’ve been reduced somewhat. The greens were already punched and were ok but definitely couldn’t get a true read on any putt. Also there were several sand bunkers that had the punch debris thrown in them. Made a play from the bunker awkward so we’d have to move our ball to a clear spot. Still enjoyed playing there with my sons but just felt it should’ve been a little cheaper considering. Thanks and we’ll definitely be back.

Course had just aerated greens putting was not very good there should be a discount when conditions are this way.

I booked the round online but it was not mentioned that the course had just recently been aerated. However, still very playable. Sand hazards have drainage issues that need to be corrected. Still one of my favorite courses...........challenging and peaceful.
