Course is in great shape
Had a group in front of us that was obviously very new to the game. Extremely slow and wouldn’t let us play through. Other than that, this is the best I’ve ever seen this course look. They’re obviously put lots of work into the course and it’s paying off.
Can't wait to play again
I am not normally one to leave a review, but I really wanted to for this course. I was really impressed with the course overall, a good mix of fun and challenging holes. The Fairway was in great shape and I enjoyed the speed of the greens. This course is perfectly set up for my style of play. There are some upgrades going on, but still worth playing. I will certainly be heading back to this course again!

Caught up to a foresome on the second hole. Horrible golfers with NO etiquette. Carts everywhere, wouldn't even acknowledge a single behind them. The course was solid.
Great Course with great staff to help you!
Really enjoyed every minute on this challenging golf course
A beautiful jewel and the edge of the mountains
The improvements are constantly happening, this is a beautiful and challenging course for anyone! This staff here is fantastic, and will go overboard to help you! Being former military, and playing with my service dog, the hospitality was even more special! It is well worth the drive from Atlanta to play this course, and I will certainly be back!
Great Value
I became a member about 9 months ago. They have put a lot of money into the course. The course is very fair, and allows you to use about every club in the bag. The staff is very friendly. Chase, MJ and Garrett are great guys. The greens are in great condition. There's not a lot of sand that comes into play, and water only comes into play on 2, 8, 10, and 16. I certainly recommend giving this course a shot if you haven't played here before, or if it's been a year since you've played there. I play in Atlanta, and pay more than double for an equal "valued" course.
Great place to play - fun course
First time at this course, was joined by a single who knew the course on the 7th hole or so, and that helped a lot.
The course was in very good shape, including the greens. My only complaint about the greens were they were a little slow - mostly - a few were noticeably faster.
The layout is very good, a mix of close in mountain holes and more wide open (but still with terrain to deal with). Again, local knowledge helped with many blind shots.
The par 3s and par 5s are varied in length and difficulty, which is nice.
Overall it was totally worth the 45 minute drive from Sapphire NC where it was 10 degrees colder and $30 more expensive to play the one public course.
Neat Layout/Great Value
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Falcon's Lair. The gentleman in the pro shop was very nice and helpful. The layout of the course was exactly what we were looking for being from the Lowcountry- lots of elevation change, blind shots, rolling hills, creeks/streams, etc. The greens were receptive and rolled true. It was a excellent value at $25. We will definitely be back when in the area.
A fun course to play
Drove to this course from Greenwood to play with friends and we were not disappointed. The course was in great shape (perhaps wet in some low-lying places) and very well-kept for as hot as it has been this month. We loved the layout and the need to think about tee shot layups and where we needed to be for a second shot approach. There was lots of water to avoid, so having course knowledge would have helped on at least 5 or 6 holes, but the setup and layout were fair. We'd consider going again (2 hour drive) when the weather is cooler. The grill and the home-brewed beer are excellent - the beer brat is great and highly recommended
Tasbury
If I could give half a star - that's all I would give here!! This golf course is going down hill quick! I've been playing there for 15 years - I will never play there again. Tried to play yesterday and 2.5 hours in we were on hole 4. I went back to the clubhouse and asked for a rain check which I received. I went back this morning and they had the same thing going on. Put out a 5some (right in front of three 2somes) which proceeded to tee off of three different tee boxes and then took over 25 minutes to play the first hole. I'm truly happy they finally have some traffic - I am. However, this course needs a starter and a ranger for pacing or this will continue to be a terrible experience. I turned around today before hole 1 and asked for my money back. With receipts in hand they offered me less than half of what we paid. Are you kidding me - ridiculous! Left without any reimbursement - out of principle! Avoid this place at all cost!!! A complete joke!
Rude staff
This place was a nightmare. Brought my son to play who is 13 and the man running the place was completely unorganized and rude. When we went to tee off there were 3 carts in front of us that we waited on, which was fine. But while we waited more carts began to have to wait behind us. When we finally got to tee off (we had literally taken one swing a piece). The man came and said we were holding everyone up behind us and was very rude. He had obviously overbooked everyone’s tee times for the same time. We were then asked to play the back 9 or leave since “we were just starting out”. Well considering we actually know what we are doing and aren’t just starting out I felt this was very sexist. Just because I’m a woman and I have a youth with me doesn’t mean “we’re just starting out or not any good” and would be holding the line up. I realize in golf if you’re holding the line up to let people pass you but when 8 different groups have the same tee time there’s obviously gonna be a problem. The man running the place embarrassed me and my son and was extremely rude. I would not recommend and we will not be back.
This course is friendly
This course is spectacular in my opinion, especially because of the 15$ round including cart. It really shows a homelike feeling, and the staff is incredibly friendly. The course shows a deep family history, being handmade from 1 or 2 people, and growing. I would recommend this golf course to anyone who likes golf, whether an amateur just starting, or a 2-3 handicap.
Falcons Lair
Showed up an hour before my tee time to hit range balls, where I was informed that the range was closed
This is usually a deal breaker for me as I don't like hitting the first tee cold. Course conditions were above average, and the layout is a lot of fun to play. pace of play was a little slow on the front, but opened up nicely on the back side. This course is a good value for the money, but lack of access to a practice area will probably keep me from returning.
You should try this course, you're going to like it.
This golf course if really out of the way but it's worth the drive if you're looking to try something new. The golf course has array of challenging holes but is also short enough from the white tees to make the golf course enjoyable for higher handicap golfers. The back tees are a challenge for single digit handicap golfers so mix up your foursome and go play this course, it's in good shape and always fun to play (rounds are always quick too).
Nice course
The course was fun to play and was in good shape! The greens are in good shape but are very hard to read the puts and get a ball close to the hole! The fairways are pretty narrow so you if you spray the ball you will pay the price!
