Looks better than ever
They have stepped up and have most of the course looking good. A couple of holes are very wet from ground water. But overall a great game. This course has some challenges that can improve your game.
Great course
The course looked the best I have ever seen before. I had no problem with the course, but I did have a problem with the GolfNow app. The GPS was not correct with the holes we were playing. The score card would say 192 yds the GPS would 512 yds. When we would be 75 yds from flag the gps would say 315 yds. This course is narrow so it is challenging. It someone can master this course they could play anywhere.
Super nice Staff.
I went there with my 5 year old grandson and was welcomed with open arms. I was worried if I could take him out for his first golf experience. It was no problem. As for the course it is 9 hole with some tricky dog legs. Overall in good shape for the value and was a good experience. I will go back again when visiting the area. I want to thank them and the nice golfers I met there.
If you can play here you can anywhere.
Narrow fairways, so you can really work on getting your direction of hitting the ball straight. A couple of holes has a lot of ground water making it very muddy. But once you get past those it is all good.
Dogwood the rough is rough.
The greens were in pretty good condition, but they were slow. The fairways were okay. The 1st cut of the rough is high. No forgiveness.
The course layout is good. The clubhouse has been renovated and the men's restroom is clean.
Great challenge
An awesome experience, very friendly staff great course for the average golfer. This course makes you manage your game as appose to just hitting the ball hard, not very long but a fun course on some hills. It is a little "GEM" in Walterboro SC.
Best 9 hole course around.
Outstanding service by the staff. Even though it was my first time playing this course. They made my sons and i feel welcome. The course is challenging enough for low handicap golfers yet not too difficult for a high handicapper. Will definitely be playing here again.
Great value.
This is a fun course with some changes in elevation. The staff was friendly and helpful. Will play it again.
Great Low Country Course.
This course is in pretty good shape. I have played here in the past and it is presently in the best shape I've seen. A couple of greens have some bare spots. Overall a great experience
Wide variety of elevations for a low country course!
Course definitely favors a fade off the tee. There are some really hard holes and some really easy holes. Understanding when you can and cannot hit a driver off the tee box is very important. The 8 th hole has two different greens and the signage is not clear as to which green you should play too, confusing for a first timer. The greens are nice and roll true with a few patched areas. I enjoyed my day.
Good for the Money
Got this round for $11 on golf now.
The folks that run this place are super nice as well as the fellow golfers.
My understanding they are just getting the course back in order. The first holes were rather swampy.
The other holes fine.
Some greens were lush, others had some weeds in them, some missing some green, but for $11 it was a good deal for me. I'm just getting started again golfing, so it was fine for me.
Great 9 holer
Friendly & helpful staff -- nice layout -- plenty of challenge -- still recovering from this wet winter in SC -- will definitely come back!

Great place to play golf
Dogwood Hills GC was a great find. Pro Shop and ground maintenance were super friendly and helpful. I am a beginner, so any course is a challenge. However, I was surprised to see such elevations and undulations on a lowcountry golf course. Highly recommend making the scenic drive to play. Watch out for gators!
A fun course to play. Plenty of hills on the course.
I played with my 15 year old son and we enjoyed the round. The course is fun for golfers that cant hit long drives all day. Worth the drive.
Great place to polish your golf game.
My home town golf course is alright. It has been looking better here lately. Fun course to play with great staff.

So do you want the truth about this course? Take a look at these two random pics taken on hole number 3 green. It tells the story.
First of all the man running the course. I think his name is John. To my understanding from asking several local member players on the day we went out that this guy has ZERO golf course management experience prior to his appointment to the course position. And it shows in how the course is run from the condition of the course to the pro shop layout and marketing of the course. His former position with the county was operations at the SPCA. Prior to that he was a deputy sheriff somewhere up north?
From the time you arrive you will be met with a sub standard professional level when it comes to the welcome to the course play. For instance the manager was in raggy shorts and a t-shirt the day we arrived. No scorecards/pencils on the carts and only two carts lined up for customers. We had to retrieve the other two ourselves. No offer whatsoever to get the carts for us. Several ladies in the group. We were tossed a key and said help yourself. Ok then. No one to assist loading bags and no effort made to do so. Next was no assistance in pointing us to the first Tee. The pro shop was stocked but offered no food except crackers/chips/ candy etc. No hotdogs and not a great selection of beer. etc.
Course seemed ok for all the rain recently not too wet except in a few areas that were well marked. BUT the greens were poorly cut on the edge and approach. Several dead spots in the greens and and no green ran the same speed. Obviously the grounds crew needs some direction here. John? Oh that's right no education or credentials in the golf business. Sorry our bad.
Generally un-assisting and non pleasant staff overall. John? Oh , you forgot to read up on Golf etiquette and rules too? Sorry our bad.
So in short there are far better courses in the area for 20-25$ per round that are friendlier and n better shape. Our advice? Do not waste your time.
