The Golf Club of Bristol

About
The Golf Club of Bristol was founded in 1894, making it one of the longest running clubs in the country. It's also considered the birthplace of organized golf in Tennessee and is still recognized as one of the best courses in the state. The current address is the fourth physical location of the club. The course that stands today was the created by A.G. McKay, a Tennessee native. The layout is challenging but fair with long, narrow fairways and fast, undulating greens. With several risk-reward holes throughout, it's a golf course that will make you think. The par-4 ninth, one of the tougher holes, is a dogleg left that plays uphill and over water. Besides the excellent game it offers, The Golf Club of Bristol is known for having some of the most well manicured fairways and greens in the area.

Tough putting
Course is in excellent condition. Greens are fast and true. Cart paths need work in places. Enjoy your round!
Exceeds expectations
Golf course condition is as good or better than any other area course. Aerification holes have healed and greens are excellent. Appears tournament ready to me. Course is now semi-private and membership fees are very competitive. Fourth trip back to this course in the past two years and have never been disappointed. Highly recommended.
Great course, very slow play
Tee time at 2:39 on a Saturday. Expected it to be busy since it was such a nice day, but the pace of play was horrendous. A five hour round of golf is crazy for a course that was under 5,900 yds from the white tees. My friend and I were paired up with a very nice Father and son who had played the course before and local knowledge did help a bit. Course was in very good condition considering all the grass isn't fully in yet. Greens are very undulated and fast which made them difficult but fun. I would say in another month the course will be in fantastic condition. Would definitely play there again but if it's another 5 hour round it would probably be my last trip up there.
Nice course
The course was in good shape considering that the day before rained all day. Temp was only in the 40's too. Would love to play this course again when warmer. Staff was very nice and accommodating.
Course in great shape for winter season
Our foursome had a great time. Great facility for the price. Will be back!
Do Not miss this one
Loved the layout of the course. Played in the rain, but the drainage was pretty good considering.
The holes are fair, long, and the fairways are wide open. The greens were very fast, but fair.
My only complaint is getting the clubs from the parking lot to the carts. The bag guys don't help and the walk is pretty long for a bag packed for the summer.
The pro shop could have been more helpful with the weather forecast and guidance about where to find the starting holes, etc. This is probably because it has been member club, public.
A gem of a course
This course was amazing. Greens were fun and challenging, Fairways and tee box's were in great shap. This course challenges you to think your way around the course. You can't just bomb it with the driver. Lots of risk vs. reward shots. I will return to this jewel.
Hey Tri-Cities Golfers! You need to play Bristol CC
This was my second time playing this course. The fairways are some of the lushest bermuda I have ever played. The golf cart shimmies when you drive over grass it is so thick. The greens roll true and are cut for a quick putt. The layout is very nice, the course staff are friendly and professional. Very nice practice facilities. Just a really great course for our area, had no idea it was open to public now till saw it on GolfNow site. Both times I played for the HotDeals rate and felt a little like a criminal getting to have such a great golf experience for $29. I will definitely try and play again this Fall.
Nice track
Course was in excellent condition with fast greens even though they were recently top dressed with sand.
It was our 1st time playing this course and the map on the card was off, especially on holes 9 and 10.
You won't be disappointed.
They Have perfect Greens. Great Pro Shop. Great Staff.
Good shape for amount of rain that had been in area
Getting to the pro shop, and putting clubs onto the cart was a chore for being the country club. I would have thought that they would have a bag drop area close to the carts and not to have to carry your bag 50 yards to the club house and then walk to the cart. They charge enough over the surrounding courses to provide a better starting area.
Great course
A very nice golf course the nicest I have played on by far. Very friendly employees and a really well kept up course. It was challenging while still fun. Will definitely be back
Great course
Course is in excellent condition. Greens are smooth and fairly quick. I will definitely return.
Fantastic experience
This course was a true gem. From the time you pulled in to the last putt it's a true golfers dream to play a course like this. On my list to play again
Good value, fun time
This course is a good value for the money, especially since I used the golfnow app! The course from the blue tees is not very long but it's challenging. Those golfing from the white tees will have a great experience. I would recommend this course to anyone. It has super greens, good bunkers and great fairways. You'll be glad you played!
nice course
Wintertime golf, so not much to go on. The course is pretty well maintained as far as the basics go...(tee boxes, fairways, greens...greens were in very good shape, rolled very true... lots of undulation, so i would guess in warm weather they could really cut them and roll them to make them brutal to putt on, but they werent terribly fast this weekend). The course isnt long, and its a little tight in spots, but really believe the greens could be this courses biggest defense. Its a little pricey at the normal rate, but occasionally you can get a really good deal on golfnow. We played for 20 bucks apiece, which is a steal. Sometimes, you can find it for 30, which its worth. The 50 bucks...ughhh, id have a hard time paying.
Course tests your aim!!
Great course! Always in great condition! Relatively short course, but it plays tough and fairways are narrow with plenty of bunkers!
This course is very nice!
I love playing here, the greens are always very good and the course set up is great!
