Twelve Stones Golf Club
About
Twelve Stones Golf Club (formerly known as Twelve Stones Crossing) sprawls across rolling hills, making the golf course known for its dramatic elevation changes. An even lie will be hard to find and golfers will also have a few blind shots in store for them. The undulating terrain makes for some difficult holes but it serves another, more player-friendly purpose of providing scenic respite with idyllic views of the surrounding countryside. The greens are lightning fast, but they roll true and there is rough bordering the well-manicured fairways. There are also several bunkers strategically placed throughout. It is a golf course that is challenging but still fun to play, a statement that holds true for a wide range of skill levels. Given the versatile design and affordable rates, Twelve Stones Golf Club is a popular venue for tournaments and outings.

Great views, just need a professional greens keeper. Photo submitted by HgaGolf on 10/06/2013
Pace of play
We prepaid to play 18 holes. However, the pace of play was so bad that we left at the turn. Many of the greens were in rough condition. Staff were very friendly and fairways were in excellent condition. It took nearly 3 hrs to complete 9 holes.
Great layout, poor conditions and experience
Played from out of town with my 9 year old son. When I arrived cart guy was absolutely no help when I clearly had no idea where I was going. Guy in the pro shop turned things around and was super nice and even gave some nice recommendations. Unfortunately their range had been damaged so getting there an hour early was a big waste of time... we headed down to the large practice green where half the green was missing grass. I proceeded to hit some bump and runs for about 10 min where I finally got some direction from the cart kid who started yelling at me for chipping on the green... he then proceeded to walk over to the sign that was laying face down on the ground ( unbelievable). Once we got on the course we quickly realized the conditions of the course were about as bad as the putting green. The layout is really nice and definitely tests you but overall the course was in very poor condition. After wrapping up our round we dropped the cart at the cart barn and threw our clubs in the car. We ran back up to the pro shop to use the restroom and when heading back to the car we starting getting yelled at again by a different cart boy for leaving our cart in the parking lot. Being extremely annoyed I tried to keep my cool and just remarked that it wasn't our cart. The guy proceeded to make comments at me and my 9 year old son of which I had my son get in the car and just told the guy he had no idea what he was talking about... as I was backing out the guy tried to block me with the golf cart and started waving his hands and yelling who knows what. What an experience for my 9 year old to see on his first golf trip outside of Michigan.
Bad Conditions
This is the worse I’ve ever seen this course. Dead sandy and patchy greens, long unmowed sandy greens, uneven tee boxes, patchy dead fairways. Gorgeous tee box on 8! Rest of course really rough and charging a premium.
The first I had played the course was maybe 10 years ago, ant the time other players said it used to be really nice. They slowly started improving greens, tee boxes (closing for a summer to redo them all) updating practice facilities, and at one point the course was in good shape.
It seems they have completely stopped any upkeep. Crab grass, dead greens, uneven tee boxes. Net on range is down and closed, grass knee high, unkept pitching area, just wrong superintendent or not one at all.
Hot deal was $3 off the normal rate of $70. I would not recommend at all. I do not plan to return.
Great staff, course needs some help
The driving range was closed. That should have been on their website.
Greens need some help.
There are some holes that have erosion.
The rough is so deep that balls right off the fringe would disappear.
Sandtrap restaurant is great and staff is too.
This course is horrendous.
The fairways were in horrible condition and the pace of play was the slowest I’ve had in weeks. I enjoy going to walk 9 at Percy or harpeth hills more than this course. This place BLOWS.
Grass optional golf course
no grass — anywhere, greens looked like deserts. rocks all over the fairways. five some in front of us played incredibly slow, did not take bunkers. course staff did not care. one of the worst courses in the nashville area
SAD. USED TO BE ONE OF THE BEST.
Really sad to see the shape of this course. The greens are all but lost. They are trying to patch in the bare spots but they really need to close it again and re-sod them. Way overpriced for the conditions. When I first started playing here years ago it was excellent, but the ever changing ownership and lack of course management it all but lost. Love the layout and playing it but going to go elsewhere until it get back in playing shape. Plenty other courses in the area that have decent to excellent greens.
Don’t play here
This course honestly shouldn’t be open right now. Every single green was in terrible shape, with dead spots so had that the pins were in the only green patches on the entire green. They need to do some major repair work.
Terrible conditions
This course is overpriced for the conditions. Probably not playing here ever again.
Horrible
This course is in sorry shape. Nearly every green is burnt and the tee boxes are the same. The fairways all have dried up dead areas. It was not as good as it had been in the past.
Tough scene
Upon arrival found out the range was closed. The practice area was severely neglected. Pretty much all the greens were chewed up. The course design itself is nice. You can tell at one point the course was one of the top in the state. However won’t be worth the drive for me to go back. Might give it a shot next season to see if course conditions improve.
Currently in bad shape
Course was in pretty bad shape as far as the greens are concerned. Most were burnt up and where they weren’t, they were inconsistent and very bumpy. Tee boxes, fairways, and rough were in good shape.
Would not recommend
Most of the greens and many of the fairways are in terrible condition. I did like the course layout. If green and fairway condition were to improve significantly, I would consider becoming a member, but in its current condition, I will not be playing this course again anytime soon.
Great Layout, Horrendous Conditions
Horses undergoing a lot of maintenance and in several fairways there’s more dirt than there is grass similar story on the greens but awesome layout with a lot of potential. Would not currently recommend anyone play there.
I would like to apologize for your poor experience. While we are battling back from some winterkill conditions in a few places, treatment by staff should never be an issue. We do have some new cart staff, but again, rudeness should never be an issue. Please call me so I can get more information to know who to address, and also to take care of your round. 615-239-8945
