Twelve Stones Golf Club
About
Twelve Stones Golf Club (formerly known as Twelve Stones Crossing) sprawls across rolling hills, making the golf course known for its dramatic elevation changes. An even lie will be hard to find and golfers will also have a few blind shots in store for them. The undulating terrain makes for some difficult holes but it serves another, more player-friendly purpose of providing scenic respite with idyllic views of the surrounding countryside. The greens are lightning fast, but they roll true and there is rough bordering the well-manicured fairways. There are also several bunkers strategically placed throughout. It is a golf course that is challenging but still fun to play, a statement that holds true for a wide range of skill levels. Given the versatile design and affordable rates, Twelve Stones Golf Club is a popular venue for tournaments and outings.

Great views, just need a professional greens keeper. Photo submitted by HgaGolf on 10/06/2013
Save your money
Course was in terrible shape. Greens are bare and covered in mats. Fairways are all dirt and not playable. Don’t waste your time here as we won’t go back
Great Layout, Poor Condition
The course layout is very good but the fairways and greens are in terrible shape.
Twilight price saved this rating
Second time playing this course but first time since they installed new greens. Carts were the most impressive part, loved the touch screen and gps. So many of the greens had dead grass. The pins were always in nicest part of the green but if you missed, it’s either putt through it or chip over it. It was an improvement over the last time I played but still needs work if they are going to charge $75 or more.
Terrible greens
Played this course recently and could not believe how bad the greens were. Looked like someone sabotaged all of them or something. No chance they’re getting them back this summer. Staff in the clubhouse were cool, but the old men playing marshall on the course were rude and on a power trip. My group was playing fast and had no one close to catching up with us and a guy drove by saying we were 18 mins slow. We were waiting on the group in front of us all day. Would not recommend. Legacy Golf Club the day before was 10x better.
Disappointed
I have been playing Twelve Stones since they first opened. This time I was shocked at the condition of the greens. I paid $70 which should have been a $45 round based on the greens and other repairs ongoing on the course.
I understand that with improvement comes challenges, but I feel it could have been at a more reasonable price. I guess I will wait a year to go back and see if it all paid off. Truly disappointed and can not recommend this course to any of my friends at this time.
Where were the renovations?
Aside from swapping the front and back nine, I don’t see any evidence of course renovations. The greens and tee boxes are in terrible condition. The fairways are only slightly better. Driving range is closed due to storm damage (lost their nets) but from the looks of it, it makes the club look like a dump. For $30 more, go play hermitage. This place ain’t worth it.
Greens were rough. They apparently redid them last year. I played with two members who said they were not going to renew their memberships for next year because of the greens and I 1000% agree with them.
Fun Place
This was a fun place to play. The greens needed a little tender care but other than that I had a blast. Only played 7 holes due to the crazy rain.
Fun course but not in good shape currently
This course has potential but is not in good shape currently. Tee boxes were uneven and mostly dirt and sand. Fairways were in good condition but the greens were the worst part. Usually 50% of the greens were sand or dirt and dead. Super bumpy and not consistent at all. We were very disappointed in a $60 fee for these conditions.
No good
Decided to play here because it’ll be the only MidAm qualifier site in the area in a couple months and I haven’t seen it in a long time. Yea, yikes. The TGA might want to rethink this choice. It’s a fun undulating design but my goodness is it in bad shape all the time. They might be gambling that the course will be in better shape by then. Risky!
Course was terrible
I haven’t played here in years and doubt I’ll be back. Fairways were horrible. Mostly dead. Tee boxes were trash. One hole we teed off from the fairway. Greens are in terrible shape. For the amount of money it’s not even closer to worth it. Play somewhere else.
Donte pay $80 to play here.
To start with the range was closed with no notice prior. Then once you step up the tee boxes they’re basically all dirt (as pictured). The fairways were in pretty rough conditions, and the course needed some heavy weed-eating work. Greens were either good or bad, a lot of them had tons of bare spots. The course could be nice but it needs a lot of work. The course is not worth the price at all, I would pay $45 max.
Course Under Repair
Many tee boxes were only dirt and in some cases were set to championship distances. Greens were bare in many spots, and many of the pin placements were near the edge of greens. The toll of the winter months was obvious and given the course conditions charging $ 75 per round is way too high.
Course seems to be under reno
played it Easter weekend with my FIL for the first time. he has played it in the past and said it was a solid all around good course but right now it is in terrible shape. 5 tees or so are under repair and all the tees are up at the senior/ladies location. greens hard as a rock. land it 10 yards short and you will roll onto the green. land on the green and its going to roll over back/side. very tricky but could be fun/challenging if the greens will hold.
