Twelve Stones Golf Club
About
Twelve Stones Golf Club (formerly known as Twelve Stones Crossing) sprawls across rolling hills, making the golf course known for its dramatic elevation changes. An even lie will be hard to find and golfers will also have a few blind shots in store for them. The undulating terrain makes for some difficult holes but it serves another, more player-friendly purpose of providing scenic respite with idyllic views of the surrounding countryside. The greens are lightning fast, but they roll true and there is rough bordering the well-manicured fairways. There are also several bunkers strategically placed throughout. It is a golf course that is challenging but still fun to play, a statement that holds true for a wide range of skill levels. Given the versatile design and affordable rates, Twelve Stones Golf Club is a popular venue for tournaments and outings.

Country club atmosphere on a municipal course
Played here quite a few times now and it was always an “ok” experience. I could take my middle class self out in a t-shirt and sneakers and play a round unbothered, but since they re-opened it seems like they’re trying to be a fancy golf club while putting very little of their overpriced greens fees into actual maintenance. Between the carts reminding you that you’re responsible for house damages and cart path only on fairways lined with hidden stones that scratch up your irons, this course lacks any sort of vibe. McMansions line most holes on the back nine, giving you a wonderful view of everyone’s Traeger grills. If you choose to hit an iron off a teebox, you’re better off hitting it out of a bunker… which coincidentally have as much grass growing in them as the tee boxes. They said the greens were recently redone and are playing really well, but I’d consider them borderline poor condition at the price point. The main challenges on this course seem to be that they just have a ravine in the middle of half the holes so you have to club down on many of them if you hit between 270-300 from the back tees, and there’s no real option of challenging the course with a potential carry that rewards you, just the likelihood of leaking into a hazard if you hit a good drive. Cool. Fun. The only real positives would be that there are some
elevation changes and a few hole designs worth playing. The club house is anemic and features extremely overpriced gear, even compared to other actual country club pro shops. The staff seemed like they couldn’t be bothered, which honestly I don’t blame them as the vibes of this place from the top down seems pretty off. It’s not the worst course I’ve ever played, but for the money you’d be better off playing any of the other cheaper courses in the area. I want to like this course and I’ve shot well here, but it’s rarely fun or challenging, and any course charging over $70 should be at least one of those things.
Calm Before the Storm
I played with two guys I didn't know, and this was one of those times it just clicked. Generally nice design on this very hilly course, with one hole very difficult to reach the green in regulation. Greens in good shape. Pace of play a little slow but not awful.
First time playing this course
Thoroughly enjoyed playing this course. I had a rough day losing balls, it was very challenging.
Course is in better condition now
Maintenance has mowed the rough down to more reasonable levels so that you can now usually find your ball if you're close to a fairway or a green. It is much improved since last week.
Good potential
The Supt clearly does not care about conditions of the course. Tee boxes are sad weeds and sometimes shaggy beyond a tee’d up ball.
Disappointed
Round was expensive and the additional fees for tee time was outrageous. Forced to play with two others due to overbooking on course causing play to become back logged for the entire 18 holes.

Course staff is terrible
The marshals are extremely rude and bark orders at you when it’s time to tee off. Although that is kind of expected, what caught me off guard was how rude the general manager was. He didn’t want to do anything yo help us. Just told us to go play golf and to leave him alone. I will personally never play at 12 stones again because of the GM alone.
The rough is brutal
Course was a little burnt due to the area drought. Loved the layout and the views. Will definitely be back once we get some rain relief.

Tough Course
The course has improved significantly since last summer when they closed the course for 2 months to improve the fairways and greens as it's much more playable now. However, management has narrowed the fairways on most holes and a number of greens too so that a hard course plays even harder now. The tee boxes are in poor shape and unfortunately most are not level. However, the worst thing about the course is that management has decided to let the rough grow tall so that it's hard to find your ball even though you might be 10 feet from a green. It very much slows the pace of play when you can see where your ball landed after you hit a decent shot that landed just off a fairway or next to a green but can't find your ball because of the height of the rough not to mention losing your ball. Again, it makes a hard course much harder than it should be. The one good thing about the tall rough though is that when you can't find your ball, you most likely will find a number of other balls (again right next to a green or just off a fairway) that previous golfers couldn't find either while looking for their golf balls.
We apologize for your experience and appreciate your feedback. We will share your comments with our team to help improve course playability and conditions.
Course in need of maintenance
Twelve Stones greens were great, course layout is challenging and staff are wonderful. However serious maintenance in terms of the rough, fertilizer, weed killer are in great need. Golf balls are lost in the rough where it definitely should NoT happen - mow it!! Pace of Play will appreciate it. Also water the dadgum fairways.

Nice track
Enjoyed it. Good layout! Greens are in great shape for end of summer and a drought.

Forgot how hilly it is
It’s been very dry in the area, and that makes playing 12 Stones not very much fun. I would recommend playing it when it’s a little softer conditions. The hard ground meant that the severe slopes in the terrain caused balls to go much further into hazards and such. It also meant more
Time looking for buried balls in the rough. Overall it wasn’t a ton of fun because of that. The greens were “ok” given how little rain we’ve had lately. That said, this golf course would be lots more enjoyable when it’s not so dry and fast. It was my first time playing it since it opened nearly 20+ years ago. I’d say go spend 10-15 bucks less and play Greystone, Pine Creek, or one of the state park courses.

Nice course; Condition not worth cost
We’ve played here many times and since their work last year it has been nice but there’s still a lot of areas that were not well taken care of. Definitely not worth the cost they are charging for the condition.
