Great Track, Friendly Staff
First Tee time out (7:00 am); therefore, pace was great. Foursome behind us never waited, we finished at 10:45. It doesn’t get much better for pace of play for a foursome.
Played Shores, then Pinehurst from White Tees (70.8/130). Shores greens were a bit troubled - perhaps some sort of fungus. They did roll fine. Pinehurst greens are smaller than many course, they were in excellent shape. Many tee boxes were struggling-see picture. Due to the above conditions, I rated the conditions “fair” for a $55 green fee.
No drinking water jugs on course, that was unexpected in Houston for May! There are restrooms halfway through the nine-holes, but management is taking the COVID-caution too far in my opinion.
Bone to pick item: Starter attempted to pair me up in the same cart with a complete stranger. I explained, I would rather walk if they are in desperate need of carts for the afternoon tee-times. If that’s how we were going to roll, I expected $25 returned. The gentleman acquiesced at my suggestion and with a friendly smile allowed our foursome to proceed with three golf carts. Had I known about the water jugs at this time, I would have stated no drinking water in May on course due to COVID, but sitting next to a stranger for 4 hours is fine, come now.
I would return if in the Houston area again.
Easter Sunday
I get no one wants to work when their friends are off. Maybe you shouldn't work there if it's possible you might have to work the holiday.
Fun course
Not long but you can be challenged by a few holes. Don't be in a hurry the pace is slow. Greens in good shape they slow down later in the day.
Decent course
The course is alright but the greens were in terrible shape when I played. Depending on the price you pay, it can be a solid deal and good bang for buck
Greens keeper
All greens roll smooth but are too hard. Short irons to wedges would roll off the green. It needs watering more often to soften the greens to reward good shots
Greens keeper note
It’s springtime and couldn’t see growth on your greens. Approach shots with short irons to wedges don’t even stop close enough to the target but rolls 30-40 ft past without a pitch or divot mark meaning greens are hard which requires watering. That ruins a good shot and golfer’s of same skill will be turned off by this condition whether a member or not
Good bang for the buck
A great place to go. Always busy but the pace is kept up by the marshals the are constantly riding around.
Greens were brown
First time playing this year, the greens were brown. I know it’s only March, but the other courses in the area are in much better shape. I sure hope they are working on it.
