Until the new Los Lagos club opened recently, Monte Cristo, previously known as Palacio, was the only 18-hole course in Edinburg. The name of the game here is dealing with the wind, which seems to always blow from the Gulf and makes the course much more difficult.
Getting there : Exit Monte Cristo off 281 south, then turn left and drive 2.5 miles to the course.

Decent track
Course is ok, very narrow fairways, wayward shots could be costly.
Water on many holes.

Good course great price
This course gets a little better every time I play it. The greens are in great shape. Soft and receptive but still rolls true and fairly fast. Friendly staff and fair prices in the clubhouse. Few of the fairways are a little long but overall this is one of the best courses in the RGV especially for the deal you get on the golf now ap. Definitely worth playing.
Too many par 3’s
The greens are as good as any greens that I have played here in the valley. Harlingen Country Club is the only course that is as good. Course is well maintained and the play was very fast very good no waiting. My main complaint is 4 par 3 in 6 holes. Takes away from playing a championship course. Other than that. Nice course
Any day playing Golf is a great day
The greens are in a great shape very fast once they dry up right after 11am the fairways are very well taken care of

Great course amazing value
Greens where in amazing condition, fast and immaculate. Most fairways are wide. pro shop was stocked, could use more tee selection if you run out. No driving range, I mean they techniclaly have one but it was in really poor condition compared to the rest of the course. Well worth it would definitely good again. Hope they fix the driving range to warm up on.
First Time
On arrival, staff was ok but overly friendly. Driving range and range balls were subpar. Chipping and putting green was pristine. Tee boxes were overall very good 4/5. Fairways were so-so 2.5/5. Bunkers have all been filled in with grass. Greens were exceptional 10/10. Overall I loved this course. Will definitely be back.
Great Golf Course
I just moved to the valley from TN. Been here 3x already and the course is excellent. Everything is in good shape. Just an all around good golf course. The staff is very friendly also. 5 stars for me. Shot 39 on the back 9 my first time out.
