Red Wolf Golf Resort
About
There's no doubt Red Wolf Golf Resort is a Texas-themed facility, complete with holes named after the Harrington's bulls (they are providers of bulls for professional rodeos) and a Southwestern-styled clubhouse. As for the golf course, Jay Riviere's design has always been considered a fine layout. Take advantage of the easier front nine by scoring well on the opening holes. No. 9 is the most difficult hole on the course. It shoots through a narrow opening uphill into the sloped fairway. This one is mean -- it was formerly a par 5 -- and requires a long approach over a lake.

Doesn’t look bad in the picture but it is. Luckily there’s been a lot of rain. Give it a couple of weeks in this heat it will all be brown. Photo submitted by u480307563 on 08/06/2024

It’s Texas, why is there no grass?
There’s not any grass on the course. It’s all dead. the tee boxes are so dry it took like bending over with two hands to get a tee in the ground. This is the dog track of dog tracks. It could be nice, if maybe they knew how to water it or retain some rain water. Worst course conditions I’ve ever played on. Greens were meh, super slow. Not ideal.
Decent course
Decent course greens are a little slow but alive so no real complaints there, fairways are about as alive as Biden is. Good place if you just want to go and have a fun time and rip some beers 43 bucks was a little step for the fairway and tee box conditions. Will play there again simply because you can walk on and not have to worry about getting paired up with randoms and pace of play is good. If the owner would spend the extra time and money on the fairways and green box’s it could really become a great course. Not the worse place I’ve played good for family play
Fun track but not the best of conditions. Don't get me wrong the conditions aren't horrible but with a little TLC this place could be pretty nice. Good bang for your buck
Could have potential…30 or 40 years ago
The highlight to our time at Red Wolf was the snack shop lady. She opened early for us to grab a couple drinks because they didn’t open until 10a. The guys working the pro shop counter were all unfriendly. It was our first time at the course so a little direction would have been nice or at least a couple pleasantries.
Besides that, the greens were pretty well maintained but the fairways were not. The overall feel of the course and “resort” seemed like a page out of the 70s/80s and it just hasn’t been updated since. We paid about $35 each but honestly that seems too high, $20 each is about as high as it should be for a round there.
Played after several days of rain. Cart path only. Greens and tee boxes were in very good condition. Fairways were wet but mostly covered with grass. Sand traps were hard packed but playable. I am a little above average golfer and enjoyed the round.
Could be better
course condition poor to say the least for the cost.
pro shop staff horrible
snack bar/marshal's/cart girl great service
pace of play real slow due to the amount of fivesomes they let out on the weekends.
Cheap but pretty good
The course is in fairly good shape. Some of the fairways are a little rough and definitely watch out for the ant hills cause there are lots of them. If you get it for $25 or less, it’s a good deal. I wouldn’t pay more than that though.
Golf outing with son
The course was in fair shape overall. The greens were very good as were the sand traps. the fairways were in need of attention such as mowing and overall grass in areas not near the trees. The pace of play was fine. Overall I would play there again if I lived near there.
Last minute round
Fairways are not in good shape. The greens are really slow. Ok for a quick round if you have points to use and limited options.
