About
There's no doubt Red Wolf Golf Resort is a Texas-themed facility, complete with holes named after the Harrington's bulls (they are providers of bulls for professional rodeos) and a Southwestern-styled clubhouse. As for the golf course, Jay Riviere's design has always been considered a fine layout. Take advantage of the easier front nine by scoring well on the opening holes. No. 9 is the most difficult hole on the course. It shoots through a narrow opening uphill into the sloped fairway. This one is mean -- it was formerly a par 5 -- and requires a long approach over a lake.

A great round of golf!
Had a great time playing golf, and pro at the pro shop was exceptional!
great with one problem
First time to play this course.We were a threesome, a 3 hcper. a 7 and i am a 13. The staff (Austin) was excellent, friendly and Megan in the grill was just a nice. We had a 10:30 t time and the course was not crowded so we got off 15 minutes early. The fairways were decent for texas in the summer and the greens were full , but a little slow(@ 8 on the stimpmeter). Our problem came on #7 when we caught up to a 5 some. we played back enough so that we wouldn't crowd them expection "Normal" golf players to let us by soon (there was no one in front of them).On #12 (par 3) we drove up as they were loading up to leave the t box and they didn't even acknowledge us much less allow us (a threesome) to play thru. I,m sure these were course players but i am ashamed to call them golfers when they act like that. I will not be back because if it were to happen again, i am afraid that we would be as pleasant.

First timer
First time playing the course. Fairway is good. Green is a bit slow and soft. Morning is the best time, not too hot.

Better Condition than before
Course was in good condition and improved over the previous time playing it. Greens in good shape with soft landings and leaving deep ball marks.

Staff is always great here. Pace of play is great as are the fellow players. Fairways ok but greens very good. Love coming here to play

Glad I came back
Hadn’t played Red Wolf in a couple years. Last time I was there they had lost the superintendent and the course was in terrible shape. Practice green was under repair when we showed up this last Saturday so I was a little worried that the course was still going to be bad. But the greens on the course were in excellent shape. Overall course conditions were great!

Red Wolf
First four or five greens were shaggy, got pretty good after that. Played Blues and it was a challenge.

Course
Played this course many times before, the greens are in good condition. The fairways are just average, not enough grass and to many weeds. The bunkers are in the best shape I have seen. If the fairways get corrected I will play there more.

Great value, Good course
Course condition was good. Greens are growing in, were slow due to thickness. Bunkers still need some work. Staff very friendly, first time I saw a cart girl on the course. Overall great value, good course. Played it for over 30 years. 45 minute drive for me, but I will continue to come back.

New management don't like golfnow....
The gentleman behind the desk was rude, he told me "you are using a golfnow special and by letting you play here we don't make any money, it's a good deal for you but not for us"

Great course
Quiet course tucked away outside the city. Always friendly staff and players. Well worth the trip

Interesting Layout
Course demands accuracy off the tee and holes are challenging with little to no bail out areas.
Tee boxes were uneven and the greens are in very rough shape: crabgrass, recently punched and sanded.
Pace was good at 3:30 total for 18 but not great. Course had the giant sprinklers on for 3 holes on the back nine right in the middle of the fairways so you had to dodge the water.

Houston match up
Best hidden jewel in the rough, best course for the money. Front nine greens were a little flat and wet but can’t beat Mother Nature. Layout is great, staff was super friendly, we have played numerous times and it never disappoints.

Not a 4 star course
I can't imagine how this course was rated 4 stars. Even though it was February, other courses nearby were in better condition. The cart had trouble starting and when I reported it, the staff just shrugged it off. I would not recommend this course, even if it was free.
