The Grizzly Golf & Social Lodge - Grizzly Course
About
The Grizzly Course is a collaboration between Jack Nicklaus and Desmond Muirhead. Since opening in 1972, this challenging layout has been host to numerous PGA, LPGA, and Senior PGA events. The golf course features long, curvy fairways lined with towering trees and there are strategically placed bunkers throughout. The three final holes feature water hazards, which are also accompanied by a difficult array of bunkers. It offers a fair amount of difficult holes but overall the course is playable for a range of skill levels, which is why it is an appealing layout for tournaments. In addition to the two courses, the Golf Center also boasts an 11,000-square foot putting green and an Academy Course with four championship holes.

stacked up on fairway! #Grizzly Photo submitted by todski26 on 11/12/2012
great course; even better value
loved the course...condition, layout, etc. Driving range was a little odd but no other complaints
Course is in Great Shape!!!
In spite of all the rain we’ve had, the course was in great shape. A lot of the neighboring course were still very soft. It rained a fair amount the night before our round, but it didn’t show at all. No soft spot we’re found. Greens were rolling pure. Great experience overall.
Excellent local course
With all the rain we have had in the past several weeks, the course was wonderful. The greens were true and dry. The grounds staff deserves all the kudos. The pro shop staff was polite and friendly, the cart barn staff, not so much. We love the course. It is challenging enough to keep you on your toes and playable enough for the less experienced player.
A Great Value from Jack Nicklaus and Muirhead
This course has great fairways and greens, offers you views of golf in the suburbs as it should be. It feels like a classic course and is playable for all levels. The Mason, Ohio area is enhanced with the course being there. I recommend it as a great course to get out with friends and family on. It also evokes my dreams of living on a course.
Just a great time for our first time
First experience, was there with a co-worker, we loved it. We are far from scratch golfers and have our challenges, but the bottom line, we had a great time and a very fun course!!!
Great greens.....every 45 minutes
The pace of play at the Grizzly my
First experience was very slow.
The course was in good shape and I will most likely give it another shot in the future.
Kings Island Gem
First time playing the Grizzly.Course, just across the highway from Kings Island. It exceeded expectations. Course was in great shape with firm fast greens and well manicured fairways. Rough was thick and it was definitely target golf. Got a great deal on Golf Now and would highly recommend this course.
Great Condition
Although the course we 90 degrees the pace was great.
Great value!
Course was in pretty good shape despite a really heavy rain the day before. Greens were great, fairways good, rough a bit long. The bunkers were pretty unplayable with standing water and washed out. Hope they get them back in shape once weather dries out.
Course is a fun track and for the price you really can’t beat it in the city. Best combination of layout, maintenance, and price in town IMO.
Had higher expectations
I had always wanted to play the Grizzly course and finally had the opportunity. The course itself is ok...not really what I had imagined. To be fair, it's still early in the season, but the conditions were pretty rough. Greens were inconsistent...some rolled pretty quick, others were pretty furry. Same with the bunkers...some with sand that had been raked, others were hardpacked. But, the biggest disappointment was the feeling that you were playing in a suburban subdivision...the golf course was surrounded everywhere by housing. And, there is signage everywhere warning that golfers are responsible for any damage caused to people or property. So, maybe if you're good enough to place every shot exactly where you want, you're playing with that concern in the back of your mind. Not the way I want to spend my time or money. So, I can now say I played the Grizzly, but I can't see coming back.
Da grizz;)
My home track - I live 3 mins away in Mason. Was a little soogy and bunkers need work. Fairways were ok and greens were ok - I bit bumpy. Overall good but could be better. I play it all the time beacuse it's so close. I wouldn't pay more than 30 for this course. Take care)))
Staff is not Professional
Stay away from this course!!! There are a lot of better options and better customer service.
Confusing lay out. Great course
You have to follow the street signs and arrows to keep on the right path, but the course is in great condition. I like the design of most of the holes.
