The Grizzly Golf & Social Lodge - Grizzly Course
About
The Grizzly Course is a collaboration between Jack Nicklaus and Desmond Muirhead. Since opening in 1972, this challenging layout has been host to numerous PGA, LPGA, and Senior PGA events. The golf course features long, curvy fairways lined with towering trees and there are strategically placed bunkers throughout. The three final holes feature water hazards, which are also accompanied by a difficult array of bunkers. It offers a fair amount of difficult holes but overall the course is playable for a range of skill levels, which is why it is an appealing layout for tournaments. In addition to the two courses, the Golf Center also boasts an 11,000-square foot putting green and an Academy Course with four championship holes.

Windy day
busy day & very windy. Trees were being taken down and the wind was blowing fine sawdust as far as 2 holes over. No stoppage during play.
Rainy day
Golf course is really good but rain made my golf experience bad.
Rain
It was raining the course was like a swamp. I was the only one that was there because they refused to close the course so I could get a refund for my hot deal purchase. They wouldn't give me a rain check so I was actually being forced to play in the pouring down rain. When I got done I was soaked and froze. That ain't right !!!!
Windy
Cool & windy but course in good shape for this time of year.
Put the holes back to 1-18
I like this course but they need to go back to 1-18. They use to have 3 nines but now only 18 and they still list as two 9s. Very annoying. I think they are to cheap to change the signs. Other than that great place.
Great
The course was in great shape. We got lost and arrived late for our tee time. The pro was very accommodating and let us on right away. Pace of play was excellent. We finished in under 3 hours. Would highly recommend this course to anyone. We are heading back to Cinncinnati in a week and would love to play the course again
they had gotten a lot of rain so carts had to stay on paths only. It made for a lot of walking. otherwise
the course was in great shape. Its not real long(5600 yds.) from the white tees which suits my game
since I'm a short knocker. It was overcast and cool and not very crowded Had a great day even though
the head came off my driver. People were very friendly and helpful and the beer was cold at the
19th hole. Looking forward to playing course again.
Tennis anyone?
if you're not playing tennis don't go to Kings Island Grizzly course. most of the teas are sloped right to left. They've changed the holes around from the original course. Very little Direction on where you go for your next shot you Criss-Cross back and forth at times you pass two or three greens just to get to your tee off area. the greens were exceptionally slow it took us a number of holes to hit the ball past the cup. not the course it used to be.
Disappointed
Friendly staff at the course. The pace of play was discouraging to say the least. The ranger was contacted but took no action for a foursome that was behind on each hole and had no consideration for others on the course. The condition of the greens left a whole lot to be desired. The greens were very bumpy, bouncy, and would not roll true. Charged full price for these types of conditions was low value. The course should invest in putting some water stations throughout the course.
Really like the course, but they had just aerated. Otherwise the course was in good condition.
Nice Round of Golf
Great weather and course conditions on the Grizzly. Challenging course layout. Cart girl passed our group two times without stopping. I had to shout at her on the third time to get her to stop.
Disappointing
Course is too short and houses are too close. This course needs to be completely redesigned especially after holes on the other course were removed for the tennis tournament. A ranger even told me that Jack Nicklaus himself was there last year and was furious over how the course is now. All 22 holes should be redesigned into 18 holes. A 6500 yard course from the back tees is not much of a course. Plus golfers should not need to have liability insurance just to play the course. All damage to houses and condos that are placed way to close to the hole is assumed by the golfer. Never going back!
Really gone down hill since City of Mason took over
The course conditions have really gone down hill since city took course over, some of the greens had severe bad spot with fungus and worst ball marked greens I've played this year. Carts were aloud to go everywhere and many spots they had paths right up next to tee boxes. They had rangers on course and they didn't do anything. Last but not least the guy in the cart barn was very rude, making a smart comment about the receipt the pro shop gave me! Really bad customer service!
I play here very often. The course layout is very good and is challenging in a sense. Tee boxs could use a little bit of work but otherwise good shape. Friendly staff. Driving Range could use some work but I dont blame them for it.
sounds like fun playing ping pong off houses from 6500 yards really?????
