About
The Grizzly Course is a collaboration between Jack Nicklaus and Desmond Muirhead. Since opening in 1972, this challenging layout has been host to numerous PGA, LPGA, and Senior PGA events. The golf course features long, curvy fairways lined with towering trees and there are strategically placed bunkers throughout. The three final holes feature water hazards, which are also accompanied by a difficult array of bunkers. It offers a fair amount of difficult holes but overall the course is playable for a range of skill levels, which is why it is an appealing layout for tournaments. In addition to the two courses, the Golf Center also boasts an 11,000-square foot putting green and an Academy Course with four championship holes.

Grizzly-- Easy Fairways -- Hard Greens
From the tees to green the course is good, but
-- Bunkers/Sand need a little work
-- Greens are fast (very)
-- Greens are slopey/hilly
-- whoever picks the hole location has a mean streak (way too close the slopes or edges)
Scoring/Fun would be increased if birdys were possible - most of the time I was just happy to get a 2 putt par and move on (but 3 putts were always on the table) -- for recreational golf going for a birdy should be possible without penalty of a 3 putt, lagging a birdy putt just is not fun

A nice facility in my back yard
The Golf Center is always a treat to play considering the many changes the course has gone through over the years. The greens were in excellent shape as were the fairways. Although they have done a good job blending the “newer” holes into the overall design, the play through the housing development takes away from the feel the original Grizzly tournament course provided. Overall, it will be difficult to find a municipal facility anywhere that offers a very playable course with the options for after play you find at the Golf Center.

Nice, but.......
Pace of play has become an issue just about everywhere, but at the Grizzly it has reached ridiculous. A 4-man group and a 3-woman group had play backed up to the point where 3 other groups were backed up on tees waiting on them, I left after only playing nine of my paid-for 18

No Rain Checks
Friend and I played 10 holes and it started pouring down rain. By the time we got some shelter we were soaked. After about 20 minutes it died to just a sprinkle. I was over it and did not have a change of clothes. Ask for a rain check and was refused due to it's not my fault I'm drenched. I should have had extra clothes. That the storm is almost passed us now. Who wants to play wet and in drizzle. Be prepared for staff to be petty and sarcastic. Other than that course condition was maintained regularly. Only will return if it's my last choice or I'm invited.

You can definitely tell this course was very nice at some point, those days are long gone though however.
I paid 40 bucks to play on a hot deal and would not pay that again, course is in rough shape and the layout is insanely long. This is a challenging course but there are many that are much nicer in the area.

Not enough carts for all the golfers. Had to wait on every hole on the front 9. A two-some and two 1-somes got paired up by the starter. Then, some other golfers yelled at us for it even though the starter grouped us together. Starter also came out at one point and told us to speed up. Yet, the carts said we were almost 10 minutes ahead of pace of play. Spend you money elsewhere.

In Good Shape!
Grizzly in good shape. Tees, fairways, greens all good. Rough is fairly dried out and thinning out but that isn’t unusual at this time of year. Had not played there in a while. Was good to get back and play there again.
Range area need some work — not in good shape — maybe that will happen after the tennis tournament is complete.
Chipping and putting area very nice.

The course is in great shape . Maybe monitor groups to stay in position . Keep ball washers full . Plus some cold water stations on the course . Overall great value for the money .

We have been in a league here for years . They send out high school golf teams in front of us…. THREE HOURS and TWENTY MINUTES LATER WE FINISH( NINE HOLES ) Absolutely ridiculous . You would think leagues would have priority, apparently not . Other than Jack the management team here is a joke . Andy one of the pros , complete clown.
Bottom line you take care of league players , they pay the bills. Not one ranger out there to address this situation.

The Grizzly & the geese
Course in ok shape in general but still a lot of goose poop in misc. areas. Not much to do about it but if you’re sensitive to it you might want to play elsewhere.
