Hanover Golf Club: 4 stars
It's a very challenging course, but the holes run very close to one another on some holes. Warning: lots of hazards: narrow fairways; numerous traps; water; hills/elevation; tough lies; small greens, etc. It may be as challenging as the Gauntlet. Not for the faint-hearted. Using a cart is strongly advised.
Lack of grass in Fairways in late May?
Fairways are my complaint, amount of grass is comparable to as if in March, not the middle of May of courses I've played. Especially near the greens, very little grass so hitting off dirt/mud. Shows signs of not being fertilized. May play again in the fall but not anytime soon. The greens and course layout are good.
Great overall facility
Great overall facility, attentive staff. Definitely in my course rota here in the Richmond area. Ty!

Golf weekly outing
Course was good dry conditions that effected the course fairways were extreamly hard
Good experience.
Greens are awesome. Fairways are my complaint. Poa all over them and not much grass at all. Course layout is really cool. I will go back before the Pia dies in the summer heat.
Good course for all levels of players
Good course to play lay out of course very challenging will play there again.
Worth the drive
Pretty nice course. Greens freshly aerated so should be in great shape by summer. It’s tight but playable for the weekender
Could use a Marshall
The course itself is fine. Was still winter conditions when I played. The greens were punched and there was still a fair bit of poana in the chipping areas. My rating reflects pace of play and unruly behavior on the course. To start I had to wait on the first for around 10 mins after my tee time to begin. The groups around me were all twosomes and singles. We were behind a three ball that were particularly slow, which normally would not be a problem if I could reasonably adjust my pace of play to stay behind. By the 4th hole there were 7 people on the tee box, the threesome, myself, a twosome and two singles. On the back nine things only worsened with highschoolers began yelling to each other across holes. Ended up skipping 2 holes to finish in 4h10m as a single.
Love the layout but…
Frustration playing off of clumps of POA annua all day
Some bunkers not finished. Bunkers finished are great
Fun and friendly course
Beautiful rolling hills countryside course. A few areas under repair but nothing major. Friendly staff. My only knock is the small “bucket” on the range consisted of a mere 15 balls.
Nice challenging layout
Good layout spring conditions grass not grown in totally. Staff very helpful and would return
