Twin Lakes - Oaks Course

I really enjoy this course. As the season goes on, greens inevitably take a beating and have some divot marks but honestly for $50-65 I play here at least once a month.

Very walkable course, fun/tough holes, and a round has never taken over 4:15 for me to complete. Everybody keeps pace it’s nice.

Practice green and chipping area is the best out of any public course in Fairfax. And coaches give excellent lessons.

We're begginer golfers but we kept a pretty steady pace especially for our skill level. I recommend only golfing here if you're a scratch golfer. Double bogey golfers may feel rushed. Everyone was very polite though so can't complain. Overall it was a fun time and will return when I get better

Course maintenance is very good. It’s too much dry weather but they are doing great specially fairway and green is no complaint. I very enjoyed game.

The pace of play was great for us but I think the folks behind us were really slow. They were about 2 holes behind. We had to wait about a couple of minutes before hitting on the back 9. The greens were SLOW and tons of divots that weren't repaired or repaired well.

Good course. Fun afternoon. Given all the recent rains, course was in good shape. A bit slow at first but picked up.

The course conditions made for a demanding round of golf. The greens had suffered significant damage, likely from recent weather or maintenance issues, leaving many areas uneven and patchy. The rough presented another obstacle - it had grown excessively tall, making it incredibly punishing for any shots that strayed from the fairways.

Our group struggled mightily with these conditions. We lost an inordinate number of balls, seemingly swallowed up by the thick rough surrounding the greens and fairways. On numerous occasions, we found ourselves in the disheartening situation of being unable to locate a ball despite it landing just a short distance away, within 10 feet of where we thought it came to rest.

The combination of impaired greens and unforgiving rough made scoring extremely difficult. It was a humbling reminder of how course conditions can dramatically impact one's ability to play well and score reasonably. Proper maintenance and care of surfaces is critical to ensuring an enjoyable experience for golfers of all skill levels.

Great municipal course! Tee boxes, fairways, greens great shape. Layout is challenging and pace of play was great. Marshall was really on top of things, we actually were off pace at one point but he was right behind us and we got the message. We got back on pace and enjoyed the round.

Course was in expected patchy and a little beat up condition given that its winter. It was nice to sneak out and play 18 on a weekday with temps hanging around in the low-mid 40s.

Not perfect but pretty good for mid Nov. greens were inconsistent- bunkers pretty firm and got backed up a few holes due to a frost delay. But that’s nit pickey for Nov golf. Over all course in really good shape.

Played both twin lakes courses a ton this summer. I love Oaks but the weeds on the greens need to be repaired. Some holes were pretty badly affected with them along with divots not being fixed.

The rough could be mowed down a little to make it easier to find your ball

Overall I would still go play there but if we’re paying $80 for a round, I would expect just a little bit more quality.

First time playing and was disappointed. I had heard good things about this course. Course conditions were fair and greens were super slow. Layout was ok. Probably will not go back

Teed off at 1505, Oak on 7/4.

Was grouped with a guy and young man that looked like his son. The guy was in his sandals - can't believe the starter let him play. The guy never stopped talking when we were about to swing, and even at the putting green. The young guy ran over a couple of bunker and didn't bother to rake. Probably a good idea to team up with people you know.

I could see a severe storm moving in on the drive to the course including a massive lightning strike just prior to arrival. Players mid-round were already off the course and safely inside the club house when we arrived. The team at the front desk offered a rain check but also made everyone aware that they would provide an update in 15 minutes. It was just enough time to grab a drink and a bite to eat at the grill so, we opted to hold off on the rain check. Despite the crowd at the grill, the grill staff handled the crowd quickly, efficiently and with a positive sense of humor. The announcement came that the course was open and we were able to tee off only 5 minutes after our original start time (1:45pm). The course was in great shape and pace of play was excellent. In my 54 years of playing golf regularly, I've experienced many storm/rain delays. However, I've never experienced a severe storm rain delay handled more efficiently. It resulted in an 18 hole round taking less than 4 hours despite the rain delay and a great time was had by all in our group. The entire staff was friendly, professional and everyone involved is to be commended. The course is challenging but fair and the staff are fantastic. I highly recommend!
