challenging but a good coursew for everyone
This course is good for any handicap. Sometimes play is a little slow.
A fun course to play
This course is excellent for the casual golfer who needs a little extra room to recover from a few errant shots, yet challenging enough to enjoy the round.
This course has some tough greens
The fairways were very good and the greens were very spongy but very fast very well-kept

The course is great had lots of fun, I shot my low round of the year 72. one birdie ,14 pars.& 3 bogies.
Thanks.
Jim
This Course has great fractures
Well kept and good greens, clean cars and good tee areas. Need to fix the car pathes. But there are alternative routs.
Friendly staff
Nice course but it has no water hazards, nice variety of holes. Played mid-day on Saturday with an easy pace. Great Golfnow prices!
nice little course. friendly staff. great family place
Nice course. Great value. Good infermediate course with chances for a low score.
Fun course very playable
Needs some sand in bunkers - drains well there was a lot of rain a couple of days ago most other courses in the area were mushy . I play this course more than any others , it's fair and fun to play .
Windy Day
Course was in overall good shape. A very windy day so had a lot of shots to make. Overall good outing.
Nice budget selection
Booked as a single for a early afternoon round. Was late for tee time due to a train being stuck on road to course, called pro shop and was told no problem. Players were pretty scarce that day, as a single I cruised through in under 2.25 hours. Course was in very good shape on my trip, as high traffic and high temps hadn't set in yet. I've scene it a lot worse. Bowling Green will never be mistaken for a private club experience, but does offer great pricing and a good time.
Worth for the money
Cart path is in very poor condition. Greens were fair. View is great! Overall course is in OK condition. Hope course condition improves as the weather gets better.
South Course..
For early spring the course was in fairly decent shape...greens were a little bumpy but ran true...as at all courses to many people to lazy to fix divot marks on greens...some holes make you decide for the safe iron play into the fairway or try to bomb it on...short but challenging...enjoy the south much more than the north course...
awful experience
Staff was very rude. the course is under new ownership and he is very rude and overcharged me. the trap I was in was full of large rocks , which left a permanent mark on my wedge. this course has been turned into cabbage patch. no john's on the course is very inconvenient especially for seniors and women.
Not a long course but it helps to hit it straight
Played on Saturday. Teed off at 11 and played by myself on the front 9, in 1.5 hours. Course was in good shape greens rolled smooth and true. On the back 9 joined with the group in front of me and had a great time. All of us were 18 handicapers so it made for even play and we fininshed in a little less the 2 hours. I am looking forward to playing Bowling Green CC again. It is a good value and worth the drive from NOVA
Great place to play!
My wife and I have played Bowling Green South at least twice a month for the last few months, the most recent being Monday, November 11, 2013. It has got to be one of the best places to play in Northern Virginia, at the best value. The views are beautiful, the greens and fairways are in wonderful shape, leaves have been kept off of the fairways during the fall and the staff couldn't be nicer. They even found, saved and returned some money my wife lost!
Great day
Played on 10/16/13. Got a rate for $8 so I couldn't pass it up. The course was in very good condition with everything green. Fairways were well cut and the greens rolled suprisingly well! I played with two members and had a blast. The course is not hard and relatively open, allowing for many mistakes. I'll be back again as soon as I get another day off!
Like the different elevations
I played this course on a Sunday morning while in Winchester for business. Course was in great condition. I shot my lowest round ever. Greens were in good condition. A couple of short par fours were reachable with a good tee shot. Will definitely play again when I'm in the area.
Good value
I played as a single, sent off first light, so pace was very brisk. Later tee times would not have been as quick, I suspect. The staff was great, everything was smooth and they allowed me to get out fast. One thing to note, I think they could give better directions on where to check in for each of their courses. I was confused with which clubhouse to go to for which course. In the end they were able to get me straight with a phone call. Conditions were on par with the price, although the cart paths, or lack of them made the ride less than pleasant. All together, I will play there again.
very good course for an average golfer
The back nine is in much better condition than front for the greens. Some high grass outside of fairways make little tough. Overall greens were ok and fairways nice.
Good course, will play there again
Course was very challenging for a duffer like myself but would be fine for a better player. My only quibble was that the ground in the tee area was extremely hard. I broke several tees just trying to put them in. Perhaps mixing a little sand in with the clay would alleviate the problem.
