Herndon Centennial Golf Course

Herndon is a great value in NOVA. The course has a lot of character. So interested green sites and a atmosphere that is bare bones in a good way. The course is in fine shape for its pecking order in the area. Could eventually use some green expansion and fairway expansion, both which have surely shrunk over the years due to cut lines. The bunkers are actually really interesting, not your normal flat muni circles, and well maintained. The tee boxes could also use some light renovation to get them back to grade. I hope Herndon might consider putting some capital back into the course to make it truly great.

Maybe during summer, it was heavy rough. Hard to find the ball At rough.

Some of the worst pace of play I've run into on this course. I quit after 12 holes cause it was so brutal. Often there were 3 groups on a single hole. Poor starter judgement and/or way aggressive tee time slots. Very disappointed.

Course was in good shape, pace of play was good, and overall provided a good experience.

When I was looking at the reviews to remember this course I came across a mention that no one repairs their divots.. well it’s true. Greens are littered with divot holes and can be annoying when you are OCD and feel the need to fix them all. Course was in good shape otherwise and walked 18 for 40$. Around here you can’t really beat that. Needs to be longer (played the tips still 150 in everytime).

I guess if you like walking the pace of play might suit you. Why the guy in front of me brought his girlfriend along to “learn how to play “ is beyond me…He was either really stupid or has a big ego trying to show off at our expense and time spent…Where was the marshal ? No where to be found….

Other than the Heat & Humidity a good time was had by all.

Am always happy to play Herndon but surprised at the depth of the rough along fairways and around the greens - quite punitive for shots that roll off the fairway 1 foot or just miss the green. Understand the downpours of the last 3 days made the course quite soggy and possibly difficult to mow. Staff as always is super friendly and pace of play was very good.

Played with group of 3. Pace of play was on pace. One thing that I did not like was the group of teens playing behind on the back nine who were impatient and hit a golf ball over the head of my play group. Otherwise it was great day on Herndon course.

Great short course to play. Pace of play can get slow, but the fairways and greens are worth it. Bunkers were nice as well.

The pace of play is absolutely terrible due to the fact they over pack the tee sheet. The last 3 time we have played here we have finished in 5 hours waiting 20 min per shot to hit. Avoid at all costs unless you are the first tee time

Great course, HORRIBLE pace of play. Expect a 5 hour plus round

Course was in good shape, not the most challenging layout but good conditions and fun for a local public course
