The 14th - a nice short par 3 with a tricky green. Photo submitted by GolferJake78 on 03/01/2019

The 17th - probably my favorite hole on the course. Photo submitted by GolferJake78 on 03/01/2019
Well maintained course, but a bit odd with the layout
First time playing here and it was a good experience. Lots of Par 4s, some Par 3s, and a sprinkling of Par 5s. Overall, I had fun and I think they did a good job maintaining the greens. The only odd part was with the course layout where you have to go back and forth across an overpass bridge to get from one hole to another. Other than that, everything was pleasant. I'll definitely return for another round.
Great Course - Don't get a Cart (Ruined My Experience)
I was very excited to play this course. Paid for a full 18 holes and cart and thought it was a beautiful layout, good condition for the area (even though it had rained prior), and very fun overall golfing. Unfortunately, the entire experience was ruined when I was told on hole 13 I'd have to return the cart I was in. Hole 13 is at least half a mile to the clubhouse, so I had to stop playing, return the cart, walk back to my hole and try to resume playing behind multiple groups of people. I wasn't told anything about this when checking in (or when I paid for a cart) and later saw a sign that carts have to be returned by a certain time. I wouldn't have rented a cart had I known and would have absolutely returned the cart at the turn and just walked the rest if I was told. It wasn't enough to make me not want to go back but it definitely spoiled what should have been a fun afternoon.
Great value, solid conditions.
Fun day on the course. Solid conditions with pretty consistent (although difficult) greens. Great value!
Course good
First time playing scored 31 over, par 71, coming back tomorrow, very challenging fairway
Conditions were better than many in the area
For all the heat we had gotten, the course was in decent condition. A few burnt spots on tee boxes, fairways, and greens.
Good course
One of the best maintained muni courses in the area. I've played them all and at the same time period. This course had the best conditions considering how difficult it is to keep the courses in tip top shape w/o charging an arm and a leg. This is a forgiving course, great for mid to high caps but has interest for low caps too.
welcoming course
The course was in mostly good shape. Any low areas were marsh-like due to previous rains.
PACE OF PLAY
Pace of play was horrendous. No one was out to enforce the pace of play rules. I started at 12:40 and was only at 15 after 4 hours. Utterly ridiculous. No reason it should take that long.
Water everywhere
The course is in very poor shape, due to being overplayed and of late to much rain. While the course is very green and the rough thick,. Many Tee boxes are thin and bold. Worse is the standing water everywhere. We walked Friday (9/4) and were forever standing in water and mud.
This course needs to dry out and be overseeded for the fall season.
Great course
This is a fun course to play. Unfortunately Herndon had had a lot of rain and the course was very very wet and cart paths only. Since it is a long course it was a lot of work to walk. However, the course is fun to play and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this course, but I would wait for a dryer day
Wet day on the course
There was a significant amount of rain that fell overnight resulting in cart path only conditions. Many of the fairways had standing water. Aside from the wet areas, the fairways were in good shape, as were the greens. Great course to walk. Staff are very welcome.
