The 14th - a nice short par 3 with a tricky green. Photo submitted by GolferJake78 on 03/01/2019

The 17th - probably my favorite hole on the course. Photo submitted by GolferJake78 on 03/01/2019
Early tee times a must
i have played this course a few times. Sunday we had a 736 tee time and finished the round in less than 4 hours.
Walking the Course
this is a well maintained public course. Requires some well placed shots. Has short par 3's (100-120 yards) when compared to other courses in the area (140- 170 yards). This is a walkable course for either 9 or 18. For holes 11-15, have to be on your toes. they are parallel but separated by trees. Just need to listen for wayward shots.
Herndon makes you feel good about your game
Herndon's wide fairways and limited trouble make you feel good about your game. Even if you spray the ball, the course is very forgiving, and fairly short. One of my favorite courses to play.
Cheap Course without the Crowds
Even though this course is somewhat on the short side, it still has it's challenges. Like most courses in the area, you can find what on a handful of holes and woods on several. Altogether, I was pleased with the pace of play and the condition of the course. It's not the fanciest course you've ever played, but you get what you pay for (which was $42 in this case).
Excellenr Municipal Course
Herndon Cenfennial is an ecellent, moderately challenging course, Not many forced carriers or water holes means that ordinary players need not fear unexpected penalty strokes. Distance is not terribly long from the blue tees, and mid-week you will have the course almot entirely to to youself. Weekends, expect 4 1/2 hours minimum, unforntuately.
Great shape Muni!
The course overall is in great shape and the greens are amazing right now.
Poor friendliness and grass
While the grass is green, it does not actually hold to the ground. The grass was barely attached to the soil. There were many instances that my footing gave way because while my cleats were firmly planted in the grass, it would just pull very freely from the soil. The woman on the beverage cart bypassed by group 4 times without even checking if we would like anything. I thought that was part of the job when staffing the beverage cart? Perhaps I'm wrong and should fire off a flare the next time I would like a bottle of water or sports drink.
This course was in great shape.
We played as a twosome on a holiday weekend and were pleasantly surprised by the pace of play. The driving range and putting green are right by the first tee -- very convenient. This was only our second time out this year and we found the course just challenging enough. As two women playing alone, we felt very welcomed.
Liked it
The course was in nice shape, and it has many pretty holes.
The pace of play was a little slow considering we had two young kids with us and had to wait on most of the tee boxes.
I like pretty much everything about the course except the greens are kind of slow. They did roll smoothly though.
I never expect any less
As usual, golf is a great experience at HCGC. The weather was gorgeous, the fairways and greens are in green shape, and the beverage cart personnel was attentive. It's difficult to reasonably ask for more, except a low score.
Herndon Cent

Great time riding 18
Had a real good time here. Weather was great, pace of play bottlenecked up a bit but cleared up on the back 9. Really well cleaned up after the spring. Good Greens too.
Herdon Centennial GC
The course was in excellent condition from tees to greens and pace of play was fantastic (3:45 mins) even thought it was fully on a glorius weather day.
For $50 w/cart one of the best deals in town.
Beautiful course
Had a blast!! Only the second time I've golfed. Will be back again and again
The course was great
My son and I had a great time playing 18 holes. The people were nice and the cource was in good condition.
Fun with Grandson
A nice course to spend the day with my grandson. Some holes were very challenging but he enjoyed himself. Even Putt Putt.
A bit rough after rain
The course doesn't drain well and we had to play cart path only.
Greens were very bumpy and in need of rolling. Several tee boxes were uneven and rough.
Gas carts are old, creaky and very slow.
Only our deeply discounted online greens fees made it worthwhile.
