The 14th - a nice short par 3 with a tricky green. Photo submitted by GolferJake78 on 03/01/2019

The 17th - probably my favorite hole on the course. Photo submitted by GolferJake78 on 03/01/2019
ok
The pace of play great but it was only about 50 out. Greens were horrible and added at least 4 strokes to total score. Was wet too and the fact they didn't have cart path only was amazing (not complaining however).
Walked off 11 after taking OVER 4 HOURS
Left after 11 HOLES THAT TOOK OVER 4 HOURS. They pack their Tee times in every 4 minutes and each hole is jammed packed. It's also a short course so if you are reasonably long off the Tee you will wait every hole. Sad thing is for a muni course the greens are nice and the fairways well manicured. However I would play there for free. Very poorly managed.
Easy to overlook this gem
It's usually easy to get a tee time here and it's not a fashionable course. However I think it's excellent value for money.
The course was in great condition, the greens were fast enough and true. The tee boxes and fairways were in good shape. I didn't manage to get paired up, but enjoyed a round in good speed. 3.5 hours on a Monday. The food in the clubhouse is good honest grub, and great VFM. Sweetwater 420 beer too! There isn't too much trouble to get into, most of the grass in trees in cut right down, so it's not too hard. I will be back. They encourage walking, but the back and forth over the road is a pain.
A Gem in Old Town Herndon
Great course, Great Deal from GolfNow.
This is in the town of Herndon, and is easily accessible from the Dulles Toll Road,
Great value.
I will play here again. Fun course, great condition, and great value.
Excellent course
The course was in great shape. We always enjoy playing there due to conditions and staff.
Herndon
Average course, worth about $40 to play either walking or with cart. Otherwise, overpriced and overbooked. Took 5 hours to play with a late Friday morning tee time.
Fun course at great value
Course is in great condition. Greens a little slow but add to the challenge. Playing off the back tees make the course a lot more fun! Would definitely recommend.
Well maintained
Herndon Centennial is a nice little find for golfers. At first glance, the clubhouse and facilities appear like they haven't been renovated since the 80's. However, beyond the clubhouse you will find some of the best maintained grounds in Northern Virginia. No joke, this course is one of the most lush and we'll maintained courses I have played in the area. This superintendent must have it down. I haven't seen a course this well maintained since my last trip to Pinehurst. Hold your laughter I'm not joking.
Surprising shape
Really enjoyed this. Who knew this was in the heart of Herndon! Course is in excellent condition.
Nice course
There was a bit of mud around the course and that was a pain. We walked and it seemed like everyone else was riding, we wanted the exercise. We were followed by the course "watch dog" more than others and I think it was because we walked but we did manage to keep up as played slowed down for a large group ahead. We've played this course a number of times so we were familiar with the course. All in all it was a good round.
Great Public Course
I've played Herndon many times, and I will continue to go back. For a public course, the course is in great condition. The greens are great shape, but be prepared to repair ball marks because it seems like nobody there fixes them. I usually fixed like 2-3 a hole. The course is pretty short, but still challenging enough. It's great for beginners and intermediate level golfers. I could see how experienced golfers may not like it because of the pace and the yardage though. All in all, a great course especially for the price.
Good Sataurday Morning
Played with a freind who hadn't played in along time was able to get them comfortable playing and enjoyed the time out there
Discriminatory Behavior at JJ's Deli (Herndon Centennial Golf Course)
Upon completion of our 18 holes my friends and I went to JJ's Deli to cool down, we had a group of 8. The tables inside the clubhouse are situated to seat four to a table therefore we just pulled some chairs from the neighboring table (which was not occupied) to sit together. I stood up for a split second and an employee there took my chair and said she was cleaning up. I told her that I was using that chair and she became belligerent and began to scream at me. The owner of the course then came from the kitchen area and instead of inquiring as to what happened took an aggressive tone with me. Another patron saw me explaining the situation to him and even said "Jeff, she was wrong" (Jeff is the owner)...
However neither of them felt the need to apologize... To add further insult the belligerent employee than says "you know how these people are!" I am not sure what she meant by that, we had a diverse group of guys playing with us.
The poor customer service at JJ's Deli ruined the otherwise good day of golf at Herndon Centennial.
Herndon
Great condition especially for a public course. Used to play here years ago before moving to Florida,
great course in middle of Herndon
Course was very well kept and pace of play was good. Difficulty wise it was average difficulty.
I will definitely play there again.
A great place!
I definitely recommend this course. It has some 3's, some 5's, and the greens were great!
Very nice municipal course!
One of the nicest maintained municipal courses I've played. The pace of play was extremely slow for the first 9 holes--but this was due to an office outing with extremely slow players. The men we played with said this was unusual. The second 9 played at a very good pace after these folks departed. The course is friendly in terms of losing golf balls. Fairly wide open. The greens are pretty fast--easy to 3-putt.
Good Local Course
I'm not sure how, but I was able to book a party of two with a cart for under $30/pp before tax. The rate was available through golfnow.com, and we actually teed off 20 minutes before our scheduled time of 1345.
We were paired with a walker, local to the course, who was very helpful in describing how to play each hole. The fairways were in great condition, as were the greens, but they were somewhat lacking. The par 5s are definitely eagle-possible and the par 3s are very short.
All-in-all an enjoyable experience. I plan to play this course again in the future.
Nice course
The course is nice, still not able to make single tee time., would be nice if that was fixed.
Dont play on wednesday is a ladies league day, and well you know how that pace of play is.
It is a nice course, so guys how about enabling golfnow app to book a single tee time?
If you are in reston, and reston national is too expensive , try this, you might have more fun.
