About
Located in Montpelier, Hollows Golf Club has a 27-hole layout that is considered one of the best values in the area. The holes are divided into three nines that provide three different 18-hole combinations. The Cottage, Lake, and Road nines come with enough variety to offer something for players of all skill levels from low handicappers to more experienced players. The green fees are applicable the whole day, which allows golfers to play all three courses if they have the time and the inclination. The Cottage/Road combination only has water on one hole, but it is a memorable one. The hole is Cottage's par 3 third, which is the golf course's signature. There is not only a formidable pond along the right but also an 8-foot bunker on the left. In addition to the golf courses, the Hollows also has an all-grass driving range and putting green.

Doing a great job
This course has really improved its condition over the past few years.The owner is doing a great job.
Normal dude's golf course
This course isn't Augusta, but it's still generally in good shape, the layout is pretty friendly, and usually not too crowded.
The staff is sometimes a bit grumpy, but nothing an extra smile or two doesn't resolve.
Afternoon 9
Fairways were in good condition. Greens were fair. Pace was excellent.
Hollows Oct 22
Greens in very good shape. Fairways starting to thin slightly due to season/ type of grass. Bunkers could use a little care. Staff is good and overall experience is consistently good.
Awesome Golf Course!
This golf course is one of my all-time favorites! The course beautiful and fairways feel like carpet and the greens are in great condition! This course offers three 9 hole courses…… All are absolutely beautiful and well kept! The manager, Mich is always there to welcome us and goes above and beyond to ensure all players are enjoying their round. He’s very passionate about this course and it shows! The entire team here including Bob and Jerry are always there to greet us with a smile. Andy, the owner has turned this course completely around since he took it over a few years back! You will find him working on the course and maintaining it to make sure it is immaculate and in great condition…. and all his work has really paid off!
The Hollows
We had a good time playing the course, the greens need a little work and the bunkers where hard as rocks. We still enjoyed ourselves and will return again.
Great course
We play at the Hollows every Saturday. Course is in good condition, greens could be better if golfers would fix their divots. Other than that great place to play.
Conditions Improving
My wife and I had a pleasant Sunday afternoon round and completed play in less than 4 four hours. Management continues to rehabilitate fairways on the "Road" nine, with the first hole under work and playing as a temporary 80-yard par 3. Recent holes that have been worked on have very nice Bermuda fairways. Some fairways on the Cottage nine are uneven and a bit rough. The greens are tricky on some holes with significant slope and multiple levels, but the ball rolls consistently. The rough will penalize you with crabgrass. It's a decent option that I play once or twice a year.
Nice option if local
I live about 45 minutes away from Hunting Hawk and have played there in many tournaments. I have enjoyed my time and the course has a nice layout. Due to drive I would not visit here often but if chance arises I would visit for another round.
