Bent Tree Golf Club

About
The lush, rolling terrain occupied by Bent Tree Golf Club was sculpted into one of the most popular championship golf courses in central Ohio. Dennis Griffiths, the course's architect, seamlessly blended the design with the natural features of the landscape. The abundant natural water hazards come into play on half the holes and Griffiths strategically incorporated several well placed bunkers. The terrain's gentle undulations provide some interesting slope in the greens that place a priority on accuracy. Bent Tree Golf Club's par-4 eighth hole is especially demanding. It may be short at only 334 yards but it is surrounded by bunkers on all sides. It is followed by another tricky par 4 that requires both distance and accuracy in order to navigate the tree-lined fairway uphill to an undulating green faced with bunkers to the front and back.

Bent Tree is Back!
I played this course last Fall, and it was in terrible shape. The fairways were burned out, the tees had not been mowed, and it was a shell of its former self. They have obviously put a bunch of work into it, because it's in excellent shape now! I'm concerned about the rumors I'm hearing about it being plowed under and converted to lots for new houses (one rumor is that they might sell part of the property and keep 9 holes), and I sure hope that doesn't happen, because this is a great course!
Been better
Good track, just in tough shape right now. Tee boxes are beat up and just overall, it doesn’t look like it’s in great health.
Greens were nice though!
Course is great zero food service
Course conditions were great , disappointing to not have beverages available at the turn as they normally do .
Loved the course
Played on an cold rainy Monday morning. Course was great. Will definitely be back when the weather is nicer to get a full feel for the course!
Awful Condition
The staff seems to have given up. The course itself was in the worst condition I've ever seen a semi-reputable course in. Tee markers were down or completely gone on a few holes and the fairways looked like they had been abandoned for months. We waited a good while for a staffer to arrive at the concession, only after we found someone else to go get her. No apologies. Won't go back.
Still trying?
A couple of introductory comments: (1) This was one of my favorite courses in Central Ohio for 20+ years, so I might be biased; (2) I had read all of the negative reviews about the conditions since the change of ownership, so this was my first time out there this year, and I was not expecting much going in... Those things having been said, I would say this: It's still a great course with a great layout, a friendly staff, and nice off-course amenities. The course is not in great shape (numerous spots where fairways were obviously burned out, tees not mowed, etc), but it's much better than I expected, and it is clear that they are trying to get it back into shape. The tees and greens had been aerated and sanded, and there were numerous people out working all over the course. Still hoping for a comeback for what was once a great course!
golfing
Good course, Pace of play was excellent right after an outing. course was east to navigate, had to play some target golf hit to area. will play again
A Great Layout Marred By Course Care
I get it's late in the year but for how good of a layout this is, the course is in AWFUL shape. Looks like tractors have been running over most of it constantly. The saving grace is how good of condition the greens are in. Really appreciate the care here. Fairways and sand traps are pitiful.
Still, enjoyed the time but DO NOT pay full price for this.
Just close the doors
I hope they are closing this course. Maybe they sold it. The grass is all gone. They should just close the building, get rid of all staff, and let people go walk and play for free if they want to. Ever since they sold to Kemper sports, four of the six courses look like dead fields. Worse courses I’ve ever seen. I’m a member. Wish I’d known then they would let these courses become cow pastures. I’d like to know what their plans are for the course. Really bad place.
