Bent Tree Golf Club
About
The lush, rolling terrain occupied by Bent Tree Golf Club was sculpted into one of the most popular championship golf courses in central Ohio. Dennis Griffiths, the course's architect, seamlessly blended the design with the natural features of the landscape. The abundant natural water hazards come into play on half the holes and Griffiths strategically incorporated several well placed bunkers. The terrain's gentle undulations provide some interesting slope in the greens that place a priority on accuracy. Bent Tree Golf Club's par-4 eighth hole is especially demanding. It may be short at only 334 yards but it is surrounded by bunkers on all sides. It is followed by another tricky par 4 that requires both distance and accuracy in order to navigate the tree-lined fairway uphill to an undulating green faced with bunkers to the front and back.

Extremely slow pace of play. There was a fivesome
Ahead of us. Course was not well maintained for $63/round. Rough was entirely too long. Fairways were long. Bunkers were not raked/groomed. Overall for the cost I would not recommend.
Great Experience from Pro Shop to 19th Hole
First time on the course. Quick greens, little wet from all the rain we've had lately but in very playable condition given all the weather events we've had the last couple months. What really made the day was the staff. Everyone from the starter, Michigan Jim to the bartenders at the 19th hole really made us feel welcome and just elevated an already good day into a great one. Fun little track with some challenging approaches. This might be the new home for our regular rounds.
Fastest Rounf of My Life
I booked this tee time last minute with an awesome “hot deal” and it was great. Aside from a little sogginess (much less than there could have been, shout-out to the grounds crew) and ponds in bunkers the course was in great shape. I was due to be paired up, but got there early enough to get sent off by myself and was able to play 18 in 3 hours flat. Definitely a favorite local course for me.
Great course to be able to hit your entire bag during a round
This course has some length and trouble, the greens are firming up with the weather and definitely provides a challenge that is fun! Please if you golf here, respect the course and fix your divots and ball marks. The only knock I have is based on golfers leaving beaver pelts in the fairways but it’s constantly maintained and excited to see how the summer months conditions add to the difficulty.
Course layout
The golf course has some challenging holes that make you really think about what club to use off the tee and in fairways or rough.
Not worth the money
Skipped 3 holes and still didn’t finish in 5 hours before it got dark. Waited 20 minutes to hit first tee shot. Called into clubhouse to ask if I could start on the back nine and was told there’s 250 people out here and pace of play is going to be slow. Got put behind 4 frat boys who were ramming their carts together, running around barefoot, yelling across the course and hitting multiple shots just because. Payed somewhere around 50.00 a person for this. Public golf is dead
Not worth it
Took more than 15 minutes before being able to tee off on the first hole. Called in to see if I could start on the back and they told me they had over 250 people on the course so there’s no point. Was stuck behind a group of teenagers using the golf carts as bumper cars, yelling across the course and one even shoeless. Tee time was before 5:00 and skipped 3 holes and still couldn’t finish it got too dark
2:45 to play nine holes….
Played in evening two weeks in a row (Thursday last week and Tuesday this week). Both times pace of play was horrible.
Course is fine. In good shape. But pace will keep me away from coming back any time soon. Ridiculous to take 2:45 to play 9.
Underwhelming
This is my home course and it was the first time I got out to it this season. Was very disappointed in the bunker conditions all over the course. Almost everyone has super wet conditions… even standing water in some and it had not rained in 2 days and been warm. Additionally multiple tee boxes were in rough shape, #7 in particular. Love the practice and clubhouse facilities.
The course was in excellent condition as usual. One of my favorite courses in the area to play.
