Greens are rough, give it a few weeks
Recent aeration was prob needed but greens are pretty bumpy. We used a 2 putt max rule, otherwise you’ll be frustrated

Worth the drive from Richmond
Have played this course about once a year when visiting. Fairways and rough are always in good condition. Greens are well manicured but slow. Memorable holes and a nice layout. Great value.

Wet (due to rain) and wide open
Friendly course layout. Not punishing on mishits. Tee boxes needed to be cut big time, but rest of the course was in fair shape considering the week+ of rain.

Great Day and Great Greens
Went out the day after a pretty heavy rain. Course was cart path only for the first 8-9 holes (we had an 8:36 tee time) greens were in great shape. Bunkers were pretty wrecked from the rain but not impossible to play out of.
This is a great course for the money and would come back again for sure.

Fairways like carpet and greens in great shape. Staff was super friendly too. Thoroughly enjoyed it today!

Average
Totally decent, but nothing to write home about. Greens slow and have very subtle breaks. Tee boxes not level and with bare spots. Fairway/rough, average. Bunkers are a bit all over the map.

Played early.(716am tee time) Nobody was in front of us and we set our own pace. Course was in great shape. Greens were soft. Played a round with 3 others in about 3.5 hours. The weather cooperated and was just an overall perfect day for golf. For the price and play it was well worth it and will be back.

greens are way too slow
I have golf numerous times in the past and have been greatly discouraged with the speed of the greens. Every time I have golfed at Mill Quarter the green speed is always the same-SLOW. I golfed there today because a long time friend of mine had not golfed there since the massive player friendly renovation. I warned him about the green speed but for the money he still wanted to take a chance. I, myself, have no intentions of golfing any more unless the green speeds are quickened. The rest of the golf course was in excellent playing condition.

Very slow greens
even after the heavy rains a couple days prior, could have been 90 deg. on most holes. This or ride the rough only would have helped the pace of play. Course was in pretty good shape except the bunkers were full of water or if not, they needed more sand or to be dug up a bit. Greens were in good shape but extraordinarily slow making them tough to putt and chip. Nice course overall but needs some work done.

Mill Quarter.
Played Mill Quarter on July 4th. Fairways and greens were in the best shape I have seen them. Many of the tee boxes were rough, and the sand traps were pretty much unplayable-hard packed or turning into water hazards.

Amazing (but slower) Greens..
No ball marks, Poa Anna, sand or weeds on these beautiful greens. 10 foot flat putts take 11 feet of effort but otherwise very true rolls.
Most tee boxes were decent only a few need more grass seed. Staff is always so nice. Older 4-some ahead of us were so slow that we ended up 3 holes ahead after playing through. God save those behind them. They must be members..
A real pleasure of a day with perfect weather and only 1 lost ball! Quiet electric carts are much appreciated too!
