Still avery nice course
I must say my recent visit to Auburn golf course was a very pleasant and enjoyable time. The course over the years has held up very well and it is in great shape right now. They did aerification of the course and the greens about more than a month ago and they're in great shape. The fairways are in beautiful condition considering the weather we had just a month-and-a-half ago... so for the money it is a definite good deal.
Fun course
I had already booked when I found out that the greens had just been punched so they were very slow. They replaced the standard cup with an 8” size but the difficulty factor was still high and made for fun banter. That 8” cup made a difficult situation a lot of fun. I tip my hat to the creativity..
Spring
Great weather and a challenging course. Enjoyed it so much I decided to join the men’s club and got the player card. Looks like I’ll be playing it at least weekly!
Good course in bad weather
played 18 holes today with normal group, the weather was cold, wet and windy. Pace of play was good (not too many out there). The greens are in really good shape for this time of year! The fairways are in good shape too. The workers continue to trim up low hanging branches on trees and makes it easier to find your ball and to also have a decent shot forward. I enjoy playing this course as it can be challenging, you need to hit quality shots to score good. 90 degree rule for carts which is also nice.
Fun course, soggy as expected.
Fun layout, always enjoy it here. Tees and greens fairly dry now but soggy in between, as expected this time of year. Greens look beautiful and are decent speed but a bit bumpy in places, rolled consistently though. Will always come back, especially for an online deal.
Great course!
Fun course, it was a pretty chilly but they let us play on the greens with some frozen areas. Once the greens thawed out they were great! Course has some great elevation changes on the back 9 and plenty of shots over water keep you on your toes! Will definitely be going back!
New year kick off
Course is not to bad, really the exception is the greens. Wow. really bad. I know with the rain its hard, and i expect them to be back to there normal great shape, but wow they are taking a beating.
RCAW Golf Tournament
We have used the course for the past 10 years to host our annual golf tournament. We generally have about 156 golfers, in addition, we have sponsors for the 18 holes and for the dinner in the evening. The reason we use this course so much is that the staff are very motivated to help us make our tournament run without a hitch. The ambiance is good and we have enjoyed coming back every year. The costs are reasonable and the course is well maintained. Both ladies and gentlemen enjoy the whole tournament. As the executive director, I have had very few complaints from the participants.
ladies tees
why do the ladies have no advantage on sooo many holes
Nice course
Course was in nice shape; nice greens; beautiful course, and nice restaurant/bar with good food and friendly service.
Fun and challenging course.
The clubhouse workers are nice but the servers at the restaurant are pretty rude and always have attitude problems. Overall great course.
Auburn in Autumn
Got a good rate through GolfNow. Front nine is flat, most holes are tree lines and there is a lot of back and forth on the first six holes. After the par five tenth holes things get more interesting as you head up the hill and then work your way back down to the number 16 course signature hole. Water comes into play on the last two holes, expecially number 18 if the pin is on the left side. It was a cloudly day with a few showers the last five holes when I played. The greens looked like they were plugged a couple of weeks ago, but were every good I though. Shots to the green would hold and my ball rolled nicely on putts.
Slow as molasses
Don't bother unless you enjoy really slow pace. The course is nice enough but some of the staff can leave a bad taste in your mouth. It took 4 1/2 hours to play through 15 holes. Couldn't finish a 6 hour round is just ridiculous on a Monday afternoon. This was my third round with exceptionally long play and though I enjoy the course I won't be returning.
Scramble Fiasco
Booked the tee time for a friend and I only to find out they put us in the middle of a scramble tournament. So after a few holes we caught up the the scramble that was extremely slow, 8 people on a hole, posing for pictures etc. We decided to bag it after 8 holes, asked staff for refund which they wouldn't do. Gave us rain check for half of our green fees reluctantly.
