Eagles Pride Golf Course - Green/Red
About
Eagles Pride Golf Course has long been known as one of the best military courses in the country and luckily for golfers, it's open to the public. Originally opened in 1940, the course started as the 18-hole Fort Lewis Golf Course. Another nine was added in 1979 but it wasn’t until the mid-1990s that it became Eagles Pride. The three nines are called the Green, Red, and Blue, and they are played in different 18-hole combinations. The Green/Red Course starts with the newest and most challenging of the three nines. The course will test you with plenty of trees, water hazards, undulating slopes, and even the occasional blind shot. There are some tough holes but players of all skill levels could enjoy any of the nines.
Previously known as Green/Red at Fort Lewis Golf Course.

Pretty course
I play this course about 10 times a year. I have always enjoyed it. Give it a try.
Another Great Round
This is a solid golf course and a great value for the money. It does not have as many additional features as some courses and that is why I gave it a 4/5 instead of 5/5. I have played this course 5 times now and I plan to play it again in the future. Greens were in great shape considering the amount of rain recently.
Great Outing in the Rain
It was a wet day but that kept many golfers away. Play time was excellent. Course was in great condition - no soggy puddles to contend with.
Challenging but fair.
Well maintained, nice variety of holes, plenty of elevation change and a balance of sand, water and trees to to add to the challenge. Good course to return to for another round.
Red - Good; Blue -Sanded greens
Red was in good shape. Blue had just sanded the greens. Doesn't matter the course is a nice challenge. If you haven't played it before you may miss some opportunities or get yourself in a little trouble. Enjoyable round.
easy to find
great course people are nice course was taking car of well
What the heck is "foot golf"?
I was pretty disappointed with my experience due to the fact that "foot golf" was not explained by Golfnow. I assumed "foot golf" meant that I would be WALKING instead of RIDING. I had absolutely no clue that I would need a soccer ball! So I ended up paying the reservation fee and then the regular rate to play at the course because I didn't go to the golf course to play SOCCER! So I paid more rather than less to play. Next time why not describe it as "soccer golf" (like Frisbee golf)? Pretty ridiculous in my opinion.
Well worth pkayong
Very interesting course, good variety in layouts of holes, scenic. Greens are severe.
Great deal with cart and lunch.
overall very enjoyable. unfortunately got stuck behind a foursome that was extremely slow and did not seem to care. rough is very thick and just off the fairways so you have to stay straight at this course. Staff was excellent and lunch very good.
Long
We had an enjoyable day. First time for 2 of us, 2nd time for others. I just wish people would learn how to play ready golf. Would take a half hour off round. We stood and waited every shot. Beverage cart guy was great.
Love the course
We played as a two-some on a Friday after a rainstorm. We were one of 8 groups on the ENTIRE course. Muggy ... but the course was in very niceshape. It is 6440 yards from white tees. We are 16 and 24 handicap. So the length made the course challenging. Also ... you really must hit it straight .. otherwise a lot of tree trouble. This used to be a military course at Ft Lewis, WA. Changed to public about 10 years ago and changed their name in the last few years in order to attract public play.. The clubhouse facilities are like a mess hall and the sevice is that of govt contracxtor. Do what is needed; no more. All in all, an enjoyable round of golf but if they want to compete with other local courses, they really must improve their customer face and facilities.
Good Value and Fun Course
I"ve played this course many times but not for several years.
I found the course maint. to be much improved as was the clubhouse. Practice facilities are great!
Really courteous staff and efficient.
Great course great staff
Well maintained course, gets a little long and tight In some areas but very playable for a novice like myself. The staff is very friendly and accomadating. Greens are overall in great shape.
Eagles Proud! :-)
Was quiet and peaceful on back 9. Red course near highway,.
Eagles Pride golf course
Fun & challenging course. I only get to play about once a month so that make s every course a bit more challenging, but i managed a 99 on the the red & green course. looking forward to playing here again.
Play Without Delay? Not today...
On the way to the golf course, my wife asked me why we don't play this course more often. One answer was right in front of us - traffic gridlock from Fife to DuPont on a sunny summer day. Sadly, this was also true at EPGC, which had no course monitors or marshals. So much potential here: 27 holes, good condition, classic character, challenging layout, etc. Hate to complain on a hot deal, but a five-hour+ round where you watch an entire group hit two balls off the tee is maddening.
Good course.
Golf course is in good condition, greens were a little slow, fairways were lush and didn't get a lot of roll, but the course in overall was in good condition. We will play again..
Golf
Very good deal for the price. The back nine we played was the 3rd 9 due to a tournament so it was little scruffier than the front 9, but compared to many courses still in great shape. Lovely big trees cover the course and we got to see the signature eagle making his/her rounds too.
Eagle's Pride
As far as Army courses go, Eagle's Pride is on a different level. Pro shop could have more inventory, but when you are here you feel like you're at any quality civilian GC.
