About
Located just 20 minutes south of Tacoma, Eagles Pride Golf Course in Fort Lewis is one of the area's best golfing values. Originally opened as the 18-hole Fort Lewis Golf Course in 1940, it soon became known as one of the best military courses in the country but it's also open to the public. Another nine was added to the layout in 1979. The three nines, known as the Red, Blue, and Green, are played in different 18-hole combinations. The Red/Blue Course is the original layout. The classic design is player friendly but at the same time challenging with an abundance of trees lining the fairways and greens as well as tricky elevation changes that make it tough to find a flat lie. Each hole offers plenty of variety.

Good Value
Nice day weather wise, but it's been rainy, so wet conditions in places. Sand was hard and packed. Plenty of carts, staff was helpful. Pace of play extremely slow in early afternoon and we waited on every hole. No marshalls. We did tee off on time. It is a fun course to play.
Blue/Green
It is amazing what one day can do for the greens. They.were.still a little sand, but they significantly better than the say before. There is a fair amount of walking between a few of the holes, but a little exercise never hurts, right!
Normally a good course
On this.particular day, the greens on the Blue course had just been sanded so putting was all over the place and on the back nine (green course) there were lots of biting critters which tore up my legs. They are still itching and sore three days later. I very much like the course, but Thursday, 10-1, was tough.
Challenging
Difficult course. Have not yet broken 100 but had fun whenever playing with buddies.
Good value but can be slow
Nice really long course. Starts out Par 5, par 3, par 5 which is unique. Lots of freeway noise and can be VERY slow at times. Overall it's a nice course and a solid value.
Good Times
Very nice course with friendly staff. Tight fairways at times, but fair. The course was in very good condition for how hot and dry the weather has been.

Course was in excellent condition. Very easy to find location. Everyone was friendly and professional.
Great Challenging Course
Course is in very good condition and layout is excellent especially from the the back. This is a very tough but fair course that rewards keeping the ball in fairway.
I highly recommend this course to anyone looking for a good challenge and fun hike through the woods.
Staff often rude, and tee times are not followed.
You must be 30 mins early for your tee time as groups will always push out early. Staff at the front desk are often rude. This is the second time I walked to the starter 10 mins early To find that “my group” was already on number 2 and the group behind me was on the tee. Even for the price, this place just isn’t worth the hassle. I’d rather pay more and have a better atmosphere. Much better courses in the area to play.
Course - 0ne.... golfers = zero
Course seems to be in great shape. I had not played it for several years. It is long. I did not play well at all. We waited at every hole as it was pretty busy and play seemed slow. we were 5 hours for our round.
