Eagles Pride Golf Course - Red/Blue
About
Located just 20 minutes south of Tacoma, Eagles Pride Golf Course in Fort Lewis is one of the area's best golfing values. Originally opened as the 18-hole Fort Lewis Golf Course in 1940, it soon became known as one of the best military courses in the country but it's also open to the public. Another nine was added to the layout in 1979. The three nines, known as the Red, Blue, and Green, are played in different 18-hole combinations. The Red/Blue Course is the original layout. The classic design is player friendly but at the same time challenging with an abundance of trees lining the fairways and greens as well as tricky elevation changes that make it tough to find a flat lie. Each hole offers plenty of variety.

The Course is Great, But...
The course is in great shape, challenging and fun. You need to hit the fairways to avoid big time trouble. The course is fair if you are hitting good shots.
However, the pace of play was very poor today. We had a threesome in front of us and we had to wait almost every shot. It was not the threesomes fault because they were waiting for people is front of them.
Great value
Great value for the price. If it wasn’t near the highway I could see them in increasing the price. Great shape for the end of the summer
Great course
felt like a pro golf course...really had a great time playing struggled with the fast green being my first time but it was worth my while...awesome experience and will certainly play at this course often
Nice Course - Need a Soda
Great condition. If no hospitality cart, please make sure on course vending machines are operable. They never seem to be.
Excellent course
Perfect course for most anyone. There are some challenging holes, water comes into play on a couple, but fairways are mostly pretty forgiving so even if you're not a real strait shooter, the course is very playable.
The course is in great condition and the every hole is beautiful.
This was my first time playing Eagle's Pride but plan on returning often.
This is a beautiful course.
This course has lots of doglegs, trees and tall thin grass along the fairways. However, the fairways were plenty wide enough except for a poorly hit shot. Almost all of the fairways were slanted and were difficult to determine placement for the next shot. It has its share of long par 4's (over 400 yds) and many up and down fairways. Sounds crazy, but it seemed like we were always hitting into the wind which made it even more difficult. Had one hole with a great tee shot, great hybrid 2 and still came up short. However, I would gladly play again.
As a ret. USAF serviceman, I have played a lot of "military" courses and Eagles Pride is one of the very best! It is a LONG walk; the Red/Blue course is somewhere between 8.5 and 9 miles (LONG walks in-between tee boxes) total with some up and down hills so you will feel it when you're done. But, they have an awesome NEW dinning facility, and they also sell ANY clubs you want (even special order) at a GREAT rate with NO taxes, and the people there are pretty darn nice!
