Eagles Pride Golf Course - Red/Blue
About
Located just 20 minutes south of Tacoma, Eagles Pride Golf Course in Fort Lewis is one of the area's best golfing values. Originally opened as the 18-hole Fort Lewis Golf Course in 1940, it soon became known as one of the best military courses in the country but it's also open to the public. Another nine was added to the layout in 1979. The three nines, known as the Red, Blue, and Green, are played in different 18-hole combinations. The Red/Blue Course is the original layout. The classic design is player friendly but at the same time challenging with an abundance of trees lining the fairways and greens as well as tricky elevation changes that make it tough to find a flat lie. Each hole offers plenty of variety.

Hidden gem
One of my favorite places to play! They don't price gouge. Staff is friendly and helpful. Food is excellent and reasonable. Only downfall for me was a shot of Jameson was $8. Learning curve.
Cold, damp…
Challenging course and cold damp weather made for a difficult day.
Fully naturalized
On this course, you are set up with the natural environment for 99.9%. The only buildings are the clubhouse buildings and quite a few others but that’s it. The rest of the time you are in the natural environment surrounded by forest. This makes the course so unique For me.
Great Experience (First Time Golfer)
The staff was incredibly polite and answered all my questions. As a first time golfer I had plenty of questions. I booked through the Golfnow app and got a great price on 18 holes with cart included. Im so new I wasnt aware of "Cart Path Only" rules and the older gentleman at the proshop was very kind in correcting me for next time as I had been driving all over the greens while it was wet. He didnt belittle me or yell, he was very kind and I am doing this entire review out of respect for his generocity with me. So thank you again Eagles Pride for your hospitality.
Great day at Eagles Pride
Fun course with a fair amount of water in play. Sand bunkers could use better sand. greens are in good shape. Cart paths are good. I always look forward to Eagles Pride. Some of the younger and newer staff are friendlier than the old farts that used to be there....LOL!!
Best Value!
This course is fun and challenging. It does not price you out of playing. Staff is friendly and professional. Red, Blue, Green is really cool for mixing it up.
Fun layout
Love the tighter Fairways and course layout. Always fun with elevation changes as well. Got my first hole in one on the 8th hole on the red course!
Golfnow and or Eagles Pride running a scam. Buyer beware.
I bought a hot deal round, cart included for 4pm yesterday. I arrived at 2:30 and was told they didn't allow carts to go out after 2:20. I'm 70 and had ankle surgery last year. I needed a cart but I walked it anyway because i was there and ready to play. Golfnow and or Eagles Pride are running a scam. Buyer beware.
Rude staff
The rude staff here need some service mentality training and basic manners.
Course plays long
Nice course and you can usually get a Hot Deal. Course is in good shape with nice greens. Plenty of challenging holes. Will play again.
