Riverbend Golf Complex
About
The Riverbend Golf Complex sits along the Green River in Kent Valley, Wash. Owned and operated by the City of Kent, the complex offers a championship, 18-hole course and a mini-golf course. The 18-hole course is one of the busiest in the state with more than 65,000 rounds played on it annually. The golf course sprawls across a relatively flat landscape, making it easily walkable. Though it may not be hilly, that doesn't mean it's trouble free. There are more than 50 bunkers strategically placed throughout and three lakes come into play as well. The layout is player friendly, with enough variety to appeal to players of all skill levels.

The golf outing. Photo submitted by mastergolfer12 on 09/26/2012
Don't play here in the winter
I played here in the summer before and condition was OK. However, this time of the year, it is extremely muddy and can barely play. Many times we lost balls that has been driven right down the center on the fairway, or in light rough. It became very frustrating and we quit before finishing the round.
Nice little golf course!
Went on a very wet day, following a couple days of wet weather! Very messy, carts on path only. With that said, very nice little course. Staff was friendly!
Reasonably Good Maintenance this time of the year
The crew had raked a lot of falling leaves so it wasn't to hard to find the balls. The greens are in pretty good shape. Considering Seattle has been raining quite a bit lately, there weren't too much standing water. Good value!
Rainy weather Riverbend
Trying to fit in a last round before the season shuts out. Following several days of rainy weather, caught a 4 hr break and played as a single mid-day. Yes there was some muddy spots and standing water, but less than I thought there would be. With lift and clean, seemed ok if slightly dark and lonely.
Always Economical
Everything about this course is usually pretty good including the price That's probably why sometimes the pace of play might be a little slow because it's such a great course it attracts a lot of golfers.
good
Everything good
Any time i want plying this course.
Damp
Decent shape , greens soft . Excessive leaves on fairways made finding ball tough at times. Pace of player a little slow, even with carts! Great viewing of Bald Eagles!
great deal
course in good shape...need to get the marshal to keep play at a reasonable pace
Nice Track;Slow play
I always liked this layout;although very flat.Am disappointed with the long weekend rounds here.I read of poor green maintenance;but its the players that cause the greens problems. This is the worst I've seen in over 50 years for ball marks being repaired.I think I easily repaired 50 marks;many right by the hole;people just walk right on by.I fixed 8 where I was standing on a 3 par.Everybody just repair 2 per hole;we will be fine.Probably won't play here on weekends.
Good
Staff friendliness.
And value for the money is excellent!!!
Good hard greens
The greens at River Bend is in excellent shape, smooth, hard and fast. You have to plan to land the ball short otherwise it would run long
Swing Away
Wide open fairways. Expect slummers in jeans and tank tops.
Friday aftenoon spur of the moment round
Can't beat $36 with a cart. Went of as a 3 some with tow others they paired me up with. We were the first group right after the Seattle Times tournament so it took close to 5 hours.
The greens are getting beat up from all the play this year and they could use some work. I played OK so I'm happy and the clubhouse ahs a great happy hour when you're done.
OK for a last minute round...
It's a reasonable track for a muni but I probably could have found a better spot. Pace was really slow and I get it, it was a gorgeous afternoon in Seattle so there were tons of people out. A couple of greens were stressed and it's apparent they don't have a lot of funds for grounds crew. Overall a good value and had availability last minute but others in the area would have been a better choice.
One of the best courses I have played..
This course is great! Even as a beginner our game was un rushed and we had a great time. Can't wait to play it again..
Excellent Value
Got a great deal for 18 holes plus a cart for two. Greens were in great shape. Fairway was a little bare in places probably due to the hotter weather we've had. Conditions were ideal to play. Nobody in front of us. My daughter is a beginner and the tee block placements were ideal for her. No pressure behind us. We let two singles pass (Seems they were speed golfing!). Other than that, I would recommend the course.
Not well kept
Played the whole 18. They were overbooked and backed up. Worse, no one was overseeing the tee-offs, and no announcements, so people playing out of order. A twosome scheduled behind us to make a foursome went out ahead of their scheduled time, holding up all the foursomes. I called Brent (?) several times and he said he'd get the marshal out of rectify the problem; they were supposed to have the twosome hold up for their scheduled twosome behind us. The marshal refused to engage the twosome, so I had to talk to him a third time. They finally got it figured out at the tenth hole. This just added to the overall overbooking backup. We played off every tee directly after the foursome in front left the green, but still took over 5 1/2 hour to play.
Nice place to get out
Riverbend offers a great place and it is centrally located.
