Allenmore Golf Course
About
Allenmore Golf Course is located in the heart of Tacoma but thanks to the beautiful setting with Mt. Rainier serving as a backdrop, it feels like it's actually miles from the city. The layout is just over 6,000 yards from the back tees and though it's not particularly long, it offers plenty of variety. It's a course where you'll have to use every club in your bag. Trouble lurks at almost every turn in the form of doglegs, trees, or out-of-bounds. Water hazards also come into play. With uphill, sidehill, and downhill lies, the course is never boring and while there are some challenging holes, there are also birdie opportunities if you play strategically. In addition to the golf course, Allenmore also has a short-iron driving range and a practice facility with chipping and putting greens.

Dry course
Considering how wet our weather has been this past winter the course played very well.
Thank you for visiting us at Allenmore Golf Course. We appreciate your 4-star review and hope you join us for another round soon!
Fun course to play
Although it was raining most of my round I enjoyed the course. It was in great shape. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Nice course
Always in great shape. Fast greens. Friendly staff. Nice bar/restaurant.
Great day for some winter golf
Following up on all of the rain early this year we weren’t sure what shape the course would be in. We were pleasantly surprised that there was only a little water on the course, and the greens were rolling much faster than expected. The staff in the pro shop was great and we had good service in the restaurant for drinks and then lunch after the round. We finished our round in just over 4 hours, and other than teeing off on the first hole we didn’t have to wait for the group in front of us. We will be back!
Hi Red812, thank you so much for the great review. We're glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing Allenmore Golf Course and be sure to look out for your review shared on our Facebook page.
HOT & COLD
Been playing this course for 40 yrs & managing our DUFFERS TOUR Group for the last 10 years with this course in the weekly "Loop".
A little more spendy than the average NW Publics
Fewer "Specials" than the other local courses
Have had a real problem with food/restaurant for a long time - currently trying new management
Staff finally changed from totally stuffy/unfriendly to pleasant & welcoming.
Course condition mostly always above average except the normal wet fairways in wintertime.
Definitely will keep as a regular on our weekly course tour with: Meadow Park, No. Shore, Ft Lewis, Madrona, High Cedars, Spanaway!
Great conditions in December
Course in great shape for early December. Greens in fine shape with true roll.
Nice layout. . Generally good course conditions. But
The fivesomes are ridiculous and the back nine gets backed up. Good restaurant.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you'll give Allenmore Golf Course another try in the near future.
1st at Allenmore
First time playing this course. It's been on my bucket list for awhile. Very mature course. Well run and maintained. Greens are large, many buried elephants and in my opinion difficult. I've not had 8 3-putt greens in forever. Abit on the pricey side, but would like to play it again sometime. If you haven't played, do it!
best greens latley
greens recovering nicely rolling fast today Go play if you can before the rain.
Cold and Windy
But we had a great time playing 9 holes with new friends. Wish the weather forecast had been correct. Said it was going to be sunny. When the sun was out and was fine but when the clouds rolled in and the wind picked up it was very chilly.
Early rounds
Love this course, only thing that could be better is if the restaurant opened early enough for morning tee times...they don’t open until 11:00?
GREAT shape
Allenmore was in PERFECT shape for this time of year on a sunny fall day. What a great time and value.
Worth the 45 minute drive to and from Seattle.
Greens in great condition
The course was in great shape . The greens were rolling very nicely especially since they aerated them a few weeks ago. I enjoy playing this course!
Nice layout
The course has some challenging greens. The greens were in great condition. Fun layout. The golf carts could use a brake job! Both of ours were very squeaky. 19th hole had a nice cold beer waiting for us.
Greens are a rolling!
This is a great public course that is a good value. The greens are rolling nice and with some unique pin placements make this a challenge going course from the back tees. Layout is simple to understand and definitely a course you can walk. Had some issues with booking during our round where they accidentally overbooked it at 6 players, but they split the groups in half and pace of play was not too bad at all. However I think pace was okay because we had some good players in the group. Course does need to make sure they are not overbooking because I’ve seen them accept many singles into overbooked groups. Overall, a great value and good public course to play.
Greens were rolling nicely
A mixture of twosomes, threesomes and foursomes moved around the course with relative ease. The holes are side by side so some players in wrong fairways at times. Caught the course on a morning of light showers but it still played fine. The greens were in good shape and the rest about average except for the bunkers which were very solid and firm. The check in guy was informative and the bartender was a sweetheart, good draft beer choices and good food.
Hello 98azelda. Thank you for taking the time to review the course and rate us. It sounds like you had an enjoyable visit. We are glad you a pleasant experience with our top notch staff. We are going to pass along your feedback in regards to the bunkers to the staff so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting us!
Challenging course
Fun course to play and enjoy the layout. They could use a marshall to speed up pace of play. We waited on every tee box and most fairways. Several walkers who acted like they were on a Sunday stroll.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We are glad to hear it was fun and you enjoyed the layout.
