Allenmore Golf Course
About
Allenmore Golf Course is located in the heart of Tacoma but thanks to the beautiful setting with Mt. Rainier serving as a backdrop, it feels like it's actually miles from the city. The layout is just over 6,000 yards from the back tees and though it's not particularly long, it offers plenty of variety. It's a course where you'll have to use every club in your bag. Trouble lurks at almost every turn in the form of doglegs, trees, or out-of-bounds. Water hazards also come into play. With uphill, sidehill, and downhill lies, the course is never boring and while there are some challenging holes, there are also birdie opportunities if you play strategically. In addition to the golf course, Allenmore also has a short-iron driving range and a practice facility with chipping and putting greens.

Best GC for a tune-up game!
This course is a little noise on a few holes due nearby freeway. Overall, the course is fun and in great condition.
ok... more of a working man's course
very average front but more interesting back... v nice carts but no gps...tees=C fairways=C rough=C- sand=B+ greens= large but only C... it's been v dry for quite a while yet the rough weren't maintained v well... lots of bunches of dried brown cutting etc.
Disabled player had a great time.
I became disabled last year with a balance/mobility problem that has now made me unable to work. Of course I became so depressed I didn't golf for a year. But I decided to hit the links, ride a cart, and try to have fun. The staff was very understanding of my issues and let me go off on the back nine. I paid for 18 holes but I knew I would never finish. He let me go off on the back, and I even got in a few extra holes. I went off at 11;30 and basically had no pressure from behind and only had minimal wait times on a couple of greens. That was good because I needed a little rest anyway.. I will return. The Golf NOw deal was excellent. Thanks.
Great Day
I walked the course with a foursome. We took many shots and still finished in 4 hours. The course has had many improvements in the last year, and was in great shape. Beer is a little expensive, but was cold.
Outstanding course conditions with a huge improvement from 5 years ago
I enjoyed all the great updates and can't wait to play again but this time will do 18 holes
Great Course!
I play this course several times a year and it does not play well if you slice the ball! The large fir trees look great and define the fairways well, but are very hard to play through.. The course was in great shape and as summer comes on ball roll should improve.
A neighborhood feel.
A nice course that is steadily making improvements. Although short it offers challenge in greens and layout. Staff is extremely kind and willing to help. Makes you feel like your in your own neighborhood playing with friends.
This Course is Beautiful
All around Great course and the staff were nice.
Beautiful view of Mount Rainer and the 18th Hole is the Best!!!
allenmore GC
Course in good condition. Restaurant and bar awesome.
Nice Track
I teed off as a single at about 11am and played 3 holes before I caught up to the threesome in front of me. They didn't seem interested in either asking me to join them our letting me play through. So, I waited for the twosome behind me to catch up and invited them to join me on the 4th hole. We had a nice round and the pace was perfect. We rarely had to wait more than a minute for the threesome in front of us and no-one behind us ever caught up.
The course was in good condition. Although the greens were a bit bumpy from being aerated a couple of weeks earlier, they were fairly consistent.
I was trying to break 90 and I shot 83 so I was happy. Plus, one of the guys in our threesome (Don) had his own customized, tricked-out power cart. It was a pretty sweet ride and I only regret that I didn't take a picture of it.
I was only in the pro shop for a couple of minutes but it looks nice. The starter was super friendly which was not the case last year when they were under major construction but this was a different gentleman as well.
I'll be back to Allenmore.
Temporary greens in use.
Low price that day due to fact that they just aerated all the greens and I played on temporary greens. Suspect this will be state of affairs for several more days.
Good course for the price.
The greens were in great shape but the fairways are soggy and some part it's like walking in a swamp. The group ahead of us were 5some and had to wait most of the time especially on par 3s. Recommend instructing a group like that to play ready golf to speed up play and take only 1 or 2 practice swing max.
Everyrthing was great except the service
Great weather, very good and challenging coures, bad tempered pro shop attendee. Sun was out with 60+ degrees. The course was wet from all the rain, but manageable. The greens were very fast. The pro shop attendee turned his nose up at me when I presented the golfnow print out. Told me I have to pay $5.80 tax. I stated that I did not pay tax on all the other golfnow events I booked and payed at the course. He snapped back with a mean look "Do you wanna play or not, pay the tax ! ! !" I will have to re-think playing this course again in the future.
Slippery when Wet
Heah, It's March....and it rained cats a dogs. This course does not do well with wet weather. Standing water even on inclines....ankle deep in places. Balls plug in the fairway and traps were full of water. Greens were moderately slow and were not damaged by foot traffic. Play this after a stretch of dry weather or in the late spring, summer, or fall. Otherwise, good luck unless you are desperate to get in a round on a warm day. I bailed out on my back nine - I was soaked and I wore rain gear!
Fast Greens!!!!!!
For a rainy day in Tacoma. The greens were really fast. Never seen anything like it before. They played like it was summer.
Nice well kept course
Had an enjoyable round of golf. There was no restaurant or bar. They are working on getting a food service in. Nice new clubhouse. Lots of new updates that have improved the whole course. After all the rain the fairways weren't too bad as far as muddy and the greens were excellent. For this time of year the course is better than most.
Ok course, bad service
I booked my tee time online through golfnow.com. It said my tee time was booked with a cart and a bucket of range balls. When I got to the course and checked in, the person at the counter said that they did not have any specials showing on golfnow.com. I logged in, and because I had booked a foursome, the special was not showing, however, I did show the person at the counter that there were other specials showing the same special and told him that is how I booked my tee time. He persisted that there were no specials that the course was offering even after I had showed him there were. I eventually had to pay an extra $20 per cart. Had I had known the carts were not included, I would have brought my own push cart.

always fun to play, the club house is still under construction. will be a great place to have a refreshment after a round.
nicely groomed, wide-open play, gorgeous day, give-away prices
Had a great day at a fab price. Very well groomed and saw nobody on front nine. Had a great time
