Allenmore Golf Course
About
Allenmore Golf Course is located in the heart of Tacoma but thanks to the beautiful setting with Mt. Rainier serving as a backdrop, it feels like it's actually miles from the city. The layout is just over 6,000 yards from the back tees and though it's not particularly long, it offers plenty of variety. It's a course where you'll have to use every club in your bag. Trouble lurks at almost every turn in the form of doglegs, trees, or out-of-bounds. Water hazards also come into play. With uphill, sidehill, and downhill lies, the course is never boring and while there are some challenging holes, there are also birdie opportunities if you play strategically. In addition to the golf course, Allenmore also has a short-iron driving range and a practice facility with chipping and putting greens.

This course have came a long way...
Course was in great shape. Green was running fast and true. Fairways frim with great roll.
Fast Greens!
Very slow pace of play. at one hole there were 3 groups stacked up. Can't beat the value however.
Greens were in good shape
Enjoyed the course really like the improvements taking place there.
Construction of new clubhouse has things such parking & access to the temp clubhouse really hard
The course once you get to it is in good shape & plays well. Was surprised that they allow 5-somes. Pace was slow, and with the 2nd hole being a par 3 things really back-up.
This course has great everything
For the price I have never played a better course! The greens were perfect the fairways were very well groomed. Overall this course was amazing, I couldn't believe the prices. One of the best around!
The greens were very fast
Although short, this course had very fast and slopped greens. Course was in excellent shape. All new cart paths make for easy access.
Facilities under construction (new Pro Shop, restaurant, etc) Practice facilities need attention. Parking a little difficult.
A sunny and dry day in early May, made for slow play.
Great course
This is a great course fir the price you pay. Their greens are in great condition.
Lots of work being done, construction going on with a new club house
I'm a 10 hdcp. Had not played the course in a couple of years. The club house looks like it is going to be fantastic when finished. The winter has taken it's toll on many of the trees. Lots of them have either been cut down or completely removed, making the course a little easier to get around. Lot more wide open than it use to be. Greens and fairways were in really good shape. Had a great time, shot a 76.
Easy to walk
Nice course for any level. Easy to walk and most people were walking.
Good course
Course under renovation but still great paying times. Hazards needed some attention. Other than that....good review!
Great challenging public course
Great pace of play, challenging course. Saw new pro shop/restaurant going up. They are working on inside and then they need to put outside walls up. The only thing negative is man in pro shop forgot to tell me there was a 90 degree rule in effect for carts.
Very dry course.
I was surprised by how dry and firm the course was. The only problem was that my tee time was not in the course system. No problem though. I got to play on time. The ranger seemed more concerned with the 90 degree rule than the guys in front of us not playing in a timely manner. Overall great golf conditions.
Great year round course
Allenmore is always well kept. Greens might be best in area. Staff is always friendly. New clubhouse should open in April.
Overrated
Went on a cold day, they closed the greens and set up temporary greens on the fairway. Did not offer discount, staff rude. Typical rate of $30 per 18 is steep for this low quality course. Would rather drive an extra 15 minutes and play another course. Driving range is too short, can only use high irons.
IMPROVEMENTS
HARD TO TELL IF THE FAIRWAY IS CLEAR AHEAD ON SEVERAL HOLES. NEED SOME KIND OF WARNING SYSTEM. ALSO NEED TO REGULATE STARTING BETTER FOR SPACING. GUY AT THE DESK NEEDS A PERSONALITY TRANSPLANT. LIKE THE COURSE LAYOUT AND CONDITION.
