About
Allenmore Golf Course is located in the heart of Tacoma but thanks to the beautiful setting with Mt. Rainier serving as a backdrop, it feels like it's actually miles from the city. The layout is just over 6,000 yards from the back tees and though it's not particularly long, it offers plenty of variety. It's a course where you'll have to use every club in your bag. Trouble lurks at almost every turn in the form of doglegs, trees, or out-of-bounds. Water hazards also come into play. With uphill, sidehill, and downhill lies, the course is never boring and while there are some challenging holes, there are also birdie opportunities if you play strategically. In addition to the golf course, Allenmore also has a short-iron driving range and a practice facility with chipping and putting greens.

Unfortunately, a group ahead of us arrived late for their tee time and started a domino effect of late tee times. Other than that, we had a great time.

Backed up
Slowest 18 I have ever encountered. Waited 15-20 minutes to tee off from the 3rd hole on. Staff at check in was a young kid and charged my partner $25 for his 5 year old to ride as a spectator. Nice day and 1st time on course but middle of week and way to busy.. can't say I'll ever play there again..

We apologize for any confusion regarding the fee. The fee was for the second single rider cart that was requested in addition to the cart that came with your booking. We also apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced, as our rounds were under 4 1/2 for the day and we try our best to control pace to allow everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time.

Improvements?
Looks like some of the comments are starting to hit home, saw a good number of maintenance crew on the course, raking and cleaning up bunkers and a new cart for the beverage cart…keep it going, maybe get the restaurant open on Mondays during the summer and you might make more $$, overall good course

Price Gouging
It’s a 40 dollar peak season course at best, paid 75. It’s a very short track with Far too many dried out fairways, greens were in good shape however. It’s just not a 75 dollar course, even in these days of golfs popularity, find a twilight deal if you want to play here.

The Greens
The greens were too wet and a bit bumpy, but still very playable. Nice course overall.

Over priced at this time of year/spring and fall is more reasonably priced.

I love playing this course
Allenmore Golf Course in the heart of Tacoma, WA is a little-known gem, particularly during the summer when the fairways and greens are running faster. It’s easily walkable (I’m 68 years old), but if you prefer a cart, they’re all new this year.
Fairways are tight and tree-lined, shots that drift too far left or right are best played with a pitch back to the fairway.
The staff are friendly and helpful.

Decent Course
Course is in decent condition for the most part. Very narrow back and forth course with a lot of attention needed on greens. Back 9 needs a lot of attention on the greens, it became silly to attempt to put due to the conditions. Price was a tad bit expensive compared to other courses at the price point.

Last time I played Allenmore was over 20 years ago.
Glad I was able to play it again.
What a difference. Very nice clubhouse, restaurant, bar, proshop, and paved cart paths. Definitely upgraded. Course has been cleaned up and not overgrown.

Good value for your money
Allenmore is a very friendly course with just enough challenges to keep even low handicap players on their toes. The green keepers crew does a great job keeping the course in good shape considering how much play it gets. Golfers please do your part in helping maintain the course by fixing your divots in the fairway and pitch marks on the greens, the unwritten rule is by fixing your pitch mark on the green plus one other it will help the greens keeper keep the putting surface in good shape.
