Course is located in a beautiful setting adjacent to the Lewis River .
I have played this course many times over the last 18 years and in my opinion it was one of the nicest golf course around. I'm not sure what is going on but the course is in poor condition.
Beautiful day, course equipment needs help
After 20+ years of playing enjoyment here, it was our worst experience. First electric cart needing recharging to get to the 1st tee. 2nd one died on the 15th but was quickly replaced (10min.) Replacement cart was on its last wheels. Course was in need of care throughout. Most holes missing golf balls washers or water. Course not marshaled & round took 5 3/4 hrs on a lighter than usual day. Sad to see Mgmt has neglected the basics. Course seems to cater to weddings and private parties instead of golf.
Pretty course
Good condition. Good greens. Some tricky holes. We should do better next time with some local knowledge..
Great course!
My wife and I played here on a gorgeous friday morning. Great course!
Customer Service
We called for a tee time and our 4 some was placed in the middle of a scramble. We were not told this at the booking or when we showed up. Players were starting on the 18th hole and jumping in front of us on the first tee, One group got lost on the course and jumped in front of us on the 3rd hole. The tee box for the 7th crisscrossed the 9th tee box. People on the 9th tee box teed of at the same time. I am not sure what the thinking was behind the tee boxes. I have played here before and really enjoyed. It seemed as if the range and the course could use some touch ups. Food aand service in the restaurant was very good.
Course need some TLC
Some areas around the green was soggy and sponging. It seems like they letting the course go. I seen better course and better prices. Will not be playing there again until they put a little bit more of TLC around the tee boxes and greens.
Interesting Mix
The best aspect of Lewis River was the abundance of mature trees which line the holes. It means you pay a premium for not hitting it straight. The course has multiple personalities. Some holes are mundane and straight forward. Some take great advantage of the topography to create an interesting hole. And there are a couple which are extensively landscaped to give you that top shelf resort look. It makes for a nicely varied collection of holes unite unlike what I have seen before.
That being said, their attention to the none golf aspects are woefully lacking. Trash sits waiting to be collected. The Men's room is missing counter tiles and one of the toilets needs fixing. What a dump. And the coup de gras, as i pointed out to the gentlemen in the pro shop, "Nothing says welcome to our golf course like no toilet paper!"
Good course for the cheap golf now price
The bunkers could use work as they were rock hard(we have been super hot lately.) The rest of the course was ok. Tee boxes were beat up. Many of the Greens are very sloped but we’re in nice condition. Some spots of dead grass through out course. The golf now deal is great, and they have decent twilight rate with cart. Couple holes have awesome view of Lewis river! Cell phone reception is not very good.
Downhill
Lewis river used to be a premier place to play. Not anymore, over the years everything has gone downhill. There was water everywhere hit the fairway and you see splashes. I understand the need for watering, but this was overwatered. Fairways were in terrible shape, worst I’ve seen at this course. Greens were alright too many dead spots and the ball wouldn’t roll true. Bunkers are all mud, all the tee boxes are just awful shape. The whites are with the blues. What a joke! For that cost you can play other nice places. Complete ripoff to pay 40 and have a terrible course experience save your money.
Great Value
One of the best values on golfnow.com. The course layout is great, but there are a lot of patches on the fairways and greens that need repair. Otherwise it’s a beautiful course and very fun to play
Love this course
This is a beautiful course and plenty challenging. If you use a phone app for ranging better buy a good range finder, no cell reception.
First Time
Enjoyed playing a new course. Will likely play again sometime, but not a priority. Course is pretty flat and not too difficult. There were a couple of difficult holes including a Par 5 600+ hole. Very slow play. Really need to have a marshall to speed up play, especially since we played on a Saturday.
Sad Conditions
I have played Lewis River for many years. Not every year, it is a good 45 minute drive away so I generally play closer courses. I have always liked Lewis River though. Throughout the years it has always been a well kept course and a very fair value. Years ago they got a bit greedy and really raised rates ($75) , it was way to much to drive that far for that course, nice, but better courses for the same money much closer to Portland. They have since lowered the rates again, I was happy to see that and went back to play. I was VERY disappointed in the condition of the course. There were lots of weeds in the fairway.... mowed, but still lots of weeds. Greens were rolling well, but many of the greens had dead areas. They have been trying to repair them, but it doesn't look good. My guess is the greens keeper is not very skilled. Still a nice course, but I know it used to be in MUCH better condition.
Disappointed
Played this course years ago and it was great. This last trip was very different. Started an hour late due to tournament. Went in to check in and stood at counter for 10 minutes and was ignored by pro shop staff. Did not even look up from computer. Fairways were brown. Greens not mowed. Tee boxes not level or changed recently.
Always a pleasure
This is my favorite course and I will play there many times.
Consistent Lewis River
Course is in good shape. We should have checked on the tournament situation. Play was very slow. To the point of a standstill. The employees keep us coming back
Very Nice Course
A hidden gem and one of my favorite courses in SW Washington. The fairways had a few brown spots, but the landscapers and greens keepers were out there in full force. Other than that the course is very scenic and very pretty. We always walk and its always a pleasant experience. I’ll keep going back.
