The Club at Shannondell, formerly known as George Washington Golf Course, has been ranked by Golf Digest as one of the "25 Best Golf Courses in Pennsylvania" and it's also on their list of "Best Places to Play." From the back tees, the course is just over 6,100 yards. Put away your driver because there won't be many chances to grip it and rip it on this course. It's a seemingly mild layout with wide, gently rolling fairways that appear forgiving, but the strategically placed hazards along the pitched greens demand well placed shots. The cut of the rough is also higher and there are several doglegs, placing even further emphasis on accuracy. Proper club selection is also very important on this golf course. The Club at Shannondell is a fun but fair test for players of all skill levels.

Doglegs!!!
Better make the corner! Well kept secret. Course is in very good shape, well worth the ride.
Solid Course
I’ve played this course a few times now. It’s one of the better public courses in the Philadelphia area. It’s not extremely long, but I think the course is fair. You get rewarded for hitting the fairways and punished for missed. The course conditions were solid and the pace of play was not too bad for a Sunday.
I’d play there again for sure.
Great little course
Solid little course. Lots of dog-legs. Pretty tight layout.
Nice course
course was in beautiful shape fairways, green very nice. Cart path need some love fill in the holes. Play was slow the 4 some in front of us real slow.
Golf now doesnt have an unsubscribe option
I would like to unsubscribe from receiving “how was your round emails” but there is no way to do so anywhere consider this my unsubscribe. Lame.
Great Value
Good spot! Great value for your money and it’s a fair but challenging track. A couple dried out patches on the tee boxes but the fairways and greens are in really good shape! Would totally play here again or recommend it to a friend. The clubhouse is really nice too if you are looking for a post round drink or bite to eat.
Shannondell is Great
On the other hand I will never use Golfnow to book a tee time. I tried cancelling my tee and Golfnow’s website would not let me do so. Tried to contact Golfnow, no way to email them or speak to a representative. Was cancelling well before 24 hours of my tee time. Finally called the golf course and was able to get a credit for another tee time. Still have to pay Golfnow, but it will be the last time!

Great course challenging but in great shape only problem they left a group of 5 and we at tee boxes
Course in good condition
We played several times last year... Found the course conditions this year much better. Tees, fairways and greens all in good shape. We're slowed up a bit on the back nine but still finished in 3:58. Enjoyed our round and will be back.
Post Storm and Lush
First time out after major storm in area. The course has lost upwards of 25 trees. Course conditions was prime and lush after many days of heavy rain. A couple wet spots around that have trouble draining but if you stay on the fairways ands out of bunkers you are having a great day. The rough played like Bethpage today, deep and thick.
Great conditions
Course conditions were great. There was some obstructions due to the recent storm. Bunkers were well maintained for the most part. Greens were consistent and smooth. Took almost 5 hours for our round.

nice course, and in good shape. Just a few bald spots off rough near a few greens. Sand was unplayable due to rain the day before.
