Too expensive at regular rate. Booked Golf Now ' s Hot Deal and saved 50%!
Well maintained course, some tricky par 3 ' s. Crabby pants ranger at start. Doesn't like singles. Touched my clubs without permission.
Slooooowwwwww
Awful pace of play like most of the reviews on here. The course condition is okay and for the money its not bad but I have no idea why I ever go there. It is so frustrating and it takes the fun out of golf with how long the rounds take. The course doesn't care because it's more money for them. Spend a few more bucks and go elsewhere.....
Nice course long to play
Greens were Sandy from aereation. Started 25 minutes late and took 4 hours and 45 min to complete round. Nice course just need better management of course
Do not waste your money
First of all, the course conditions are terrible. The greens are so bad you can barley putt on them. That's just the tip of the ice berg for this course. The pace of play is so bad that we cut our round early at hole 10 because it was taking so long. Players golf etiquette is non existent. There are people wearing jeans and screwing around all the time. The Marhalls are the biggest joke of them all. We waited a half an hour before even teeing off on the first hole. After the first hole, we had to wait about 25 minutes on each tee box in order to tee off. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS COURSE! If this course was free to play I still wouldn't play it. Reuined my day of golf and what a waste of money.
Will not be back
Arrived at the course to see the usual 12 cart back up on the 1st tee. Inside the employee commented that unfortunately we have a 9 minute backup, surprised, I was still skeptical. Turns out we teed off 30 minutes later then our booked time. It's one thing to be behind but to blatantly lie about it does not sit well. The pace of play was slow throughout the round and no ranger present, it's obvious that the course management just does not care about getting rounds played in under 5 hours. I felt that the condition of the course was good.
Last time I played the course was a year ago, it was a 6 hour round. I thought I would give it another try because I enjoy playing here but nothing has changed regarding the pace of play. maybe I'll try next year. Also, allowing golfers to play in jean shorts and tee shirts is not a good look.
incredible fairways and confitions. Horrible pace
The course is beautiful, the pro-shop is well stocked, the staff was very nice but it took us almost 4 hours to play 11 holes. We ended up having to leave early because we were on pace for a 6 hour round. Two extremely older players were in front of us. I understand you cannot discriminate based on age, but if you cannot keep up with the expected pace then a marshal should be out there telling you to pick up and move along. It's a shame. That was our first visit, but may be our last. When I informed the pro shop staff of the extremely slow play they acted like it was no big deal. You can't get into a rhythm with that type of situation. Completely takes you out of your game.
Possibly my favorite course in the area
I really like this course. Of the public courses in the surrounding Philadelphia/Southern NJ area, this course has the fastest greens that I've been on. They're all very well maintained, and challenging but not insurmountable. The course layout is a fair mixture of holes containing water hazards, open field layout, and holes surrounded by wooded areas. So you are tasked with playing a balanced game off the tee, but if you're misfiring, you wont end up losing a dozen balls either.
Course conditions have always been top notch as far as I'm concerned. Fairways are in great shape, greens are not littered with ball marks, the rough is cut at a reasonable length. I really have no complaints.
They have a driving range and putting/chipping area to allow for full warm up before teeing off... Friendly staff.
I really cant say enough about this public course, a real treat and always enjoyable to play.
Will play again
Well maintained course. Greens were in excellent shape, most tee boxes too. Back 9 harder than front, more hills. Well stocked pro shop, snack shacks. A lot of par fours on this course.
Course is well maintained and enjoyable.
This course has improved , greens were in great shape , fairways were full and the tee boxes were in good shape. Some boxes needed some work, but over all Very Good Condition.
Excellent Shape
Course was in excellent shape for this time of the year. The front nine is more open and should allow you to shoot reasonably low. The back nine on the other hand is a bit more challenging due to how tight it is. Hit a straight ball and you should do o.k. though.
I enjoyed the round and will be back to play again in the near future.
Enjoyed but...
I enjoyed my. golf. experience. at Bensalem as. always. However, it. would. have. been. nice. to. know. the greens. were being. air raid. Other than that a great day. on. an employable course. with a wonderful. and accomodating staff. Thanks!!
Excellent Value, Friendly Staff
I can't say enough about how friendly the clubhouse staff and bartenders are at BCC. I've been to plenty of courses (local and out of town) where all the staff want is to collect your greens fee. The course isn't too long (even from the blues) but does have some very difficult holes. The par 3s require you to hit the green or else you will struggle to make par. Particularly, hole 14 which is 225 yards and all carry. The longest (and most difficult) hole is number 16 (par 5, 525yds). Hitting the fairway is a must since it is split by a small creek and the narrow green is tucked behind a row of thick trees has two traps around it. Reaching this green in 3 is an accomplishment. Generally this is a short course but elevation changes and greens which vary in speed make it challenging. Only downside to playing here is that it does get crowded with weekend hackers and it's best to get out as early as possible.
Slowest round ever I left at 13th hole 4.5 hours
I never complain about a course but when you pay to play and only get a little over 2/3 of the holes in 4.5 hours there is a problem. No course should allow 5 people (bad holders) to tee off together by the third hole 12 carts were backed up at the 3rd tee. Called the pro shop but did not help it was brutal.
August round
The course has some interesting holes. You'll use most all of your clubs in your bag. 2 problems though. First, many of the traps had little to no sand in them. Second, the trees on on a number of holes need to be cut back. This course could be much better with some work. STAFF was great.
Great shape
The course overall is well maintained. Greens are terrific.
OVERBOOKED
Hands down, the worst place to play golf in the afternoon in the Philadelphia area. As usual, I make a tee time ( 2:55 PM) and I arrive early to be courteous.
As usual a mob of golfers on the first tee box. Structure wise and pace of play this course is AWFUL!!
I got back in my car and went home. Just ate the fee paid on line, not worth the aggravation of hearing Bensalem's usual lame excuses for why they overbook their course EVERY WEEKEND!!
Overall nice course to enjoy your game....
The course is good and well maintained greens.
However there was a group ahead of us who joined their previous group after 12th hole.... So they were playing 7 people on a whole. No ranger was around to teach them the rule. Other than those people, we enjoyed the game.
Course was in great shape!
I've played this course numerous times in the past 13 years and his was the best shape I've seen this course! Fairways and greens were soft and true.
1st time on course
I enjoyed playing on the course. Being new I started to play last July 2013. The hole layouts are good over all, though some holes I wasn't sure where the pin was. Now that I have played the Course once I'm sure that the next time I will do much better.
Fun round on fair course
Bensalem Twp Country Club was a nice surprise -- short but challenging, great pace of play. Staff was friendly and helpful. All in all, a good day!
